An antifriction bearing includes a plurality of rolling elements each having a lateral surface possessing a conical shape, with the rolling elements being positioned between a conical raceway and a cylindrical raceway to roll along the conical raceway and the cylindrical raceway. The lateral surface of each rolling element forms an angle with a center axis of the rolling element that is 3&deg; at maximum, and the lateral surface of each rolling element has a convex curvature that is superimposed on the conical shape. The bearing can also include a first bearing ring having a running surface constituting one of the conical and cylindrical raceways. An antifriction bearing arrangement incorporating such an antifriction bearing is also provided with a stop element having a stop face contacting the end face of each of the rolling elements.

Antifriction bearing

A roller bearing including inner and outer races defining an interior space therebetween, and a plurality of cylindrical rollers between the races, each race having opposite axial end surfaces, a seal situated at each end of the bearing, each seal including a loosely fitting flange ring extending radially between the races, the ring having an inner axial surface facing the axial end surface of the inner race, thereby defining facing end surfaces, the ring and the inner race respectively having bore surfaces, the inner race having at least one hole extending generally radially from the bore thereof to the interior space for supply lubricant to the interior space, and pressure equalizing passages communicating the interior space with the exterior of the bearing, the openings comprising at least one passage in one of the facing surfaces and at least one axial passage axially traversing the ring.

A roller bearing assembly, comprising two bearing rings having confronting raceways and rolling element in the annular space between the rings and a cage for the rolling elements. The components of the bearing are held together as a unit before installation by a bonding composition which melts at elevated operating temperatures. Each bearing ring has at least two recesses distributed on the circumference extending from surfaces facing away from the raceways of the bearing rings into the space between the bearing rings and ring segments of the wax-grease-adhesive bonding composition are provided preferably over portion of the circumference between the bearing rings, encompassing components of the bearing.

In a linear rolling bearing element, especially for tripod joints, the cage is formed of a relatively thick sheet metal and limit projections for a linearly movable support are formed by stamping out of the material of the cage. The rollers are likewise held in the cage by projections formed out of the cage. This results in a stable cage which can take the high forces from the engagement of the support. The outer roller may be close to the limit projection, in order to assure a good support of the roller in the extreme position of the tripod joint.
