A voltage converter is proposed, for providing a DC voltage (V) for operating at least one LED strip (), wherein the converter is configured to: a) output a DC voltage increasing or decreasing at least once, preferably in a voltage range lying above the flux voltage of the LED strip () while measuring the LED current (i), and b) set the operating point of the DC voltage (V) as a function of this measurement.
