Conjugates of hydroxyalkyl starch and a protein are provided herein. The conjugates are formed by a covalent linkage between the hydroxyalkyl starch or a derivative of the hydroxyalkyl starch and the protein. Methods of producing the conjugates and the use of the conjugates also are provided herein.

Conjugates of hydroxyalkyl starch and a protein

Conjugates of hydroxyalkyl starch and a protein are provided. The conjugates are formed by a reductive amination reaction between at least one aldehyde group or keto group or hemiacetal group of the hydroxyalkyl starch or of a derivative of the hydroxyalkyl starch, and at least one amino group of the protein, so that the hydroxyalkyl starch or the derivative thereof is covalently linked to the protein via an azomethine linkage or a amino linkage. Methods of producing these conjugates and specific uses of the conjugates also are provided.

Conjugates of hydroxyalkyl starch and a protein are provided herein. The conjugates are formed by a convalent linkage between the hydroxyalkyl starch or a derivative of the hydroxyalkyl starch and the protein. Methods of producing the conjugates and the use of the conjugates also are provided herein.

Acylamino carboxylic acid derivatives corresponding to the formula I ##STR1## in which the groups R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, Z.sup.1 and Z.sup.2 represent functional groups specified in the claims. The acylamino carboxylic acid derivatives have valuable pharmacological properties which, in particular, favorably influence nitrogen metabolism. The compounds are useful as active ingredients in pharmaceutical and/or dietetic compositions for treatment or prevention of nitrogen metabolism disturbances in large mammals caused, for example, by liver or kidney damage.

Pharmaceuticals and dietetics containing acylamino acid derivatives

A nutrient composition includes at least two oligopeptides of amino acids having in the N-terminal position of at least one oligopeptide a residue of glycine and having in the N-terminal position of at least one oligopeptide a residue of L-alanine, L-lysine or L-arginine. The aqueous compositions may also contain free amino acids and may contain other nutrient substances such as fats, oligosaccharides, minerals, trace elements, vitamins and free amino acids. The compositions are intended for oral or parenteral use with mammals. Compositions having dipeptide concentrations higher than prior art compositions are disclosed. Compositions containing elevated concentrations of total protein greater than heretofor proposed employ both the described oligopeptides and also free amino acids.
