An elastic connection element with variable rigidity for coupling together components that are spaced from each other. The connection element is a tubular component with coupling points which fix the components to the element. The rigidity of the element, in the state of maximum rigidity, is determined substantially by the coupling points. These are formed by a receiving eyelet and an elastomeric bush bearing press-fit therein. The region located between the coupling points forms a piston/cylinder unit, the interior of which comprises at least two chambers that are separated by the piston and which receive a hydraulic or a pneumatic medium. The chambers are interconnected with one another by a connection line containing a controllable valve. By at least partially opening the valve, the rigidity of the connection element can be reduced in relation to the state of maximum rigidity.

Elastic connection element with variable rigidity

Herein, a particular vehicle suspension control arm in a suspension having multiple control arms is designed to create a range of available axial stiffness levels which relates to a range of toe change at the wheel under to lateral loading. In particular, a semi-active device is arranged on a given suspension control arm to allow a change in stiffness that produces a desirable amount of toe change under the presence of lateral loading. This suspension arrangement, when applied to the rear axle of an automobile, has significant merit in being able to enhance maneuverability and stability over a large range of operating conditions at a minimal level of control input energy and with robust failsafe operation.

Rear suspension with semi-active toe force compliance control

A hydraulically damping rubber bush bearing suitable for absorbing cardanic loads in the vertical installed position and yet has a simple geometry and construction. The bearing has chambers receiving the damping agent and has an undercut in the direction of the bearing axis at least in the area of one of their axial ends. An inner cage and the elastomeric bearing body are axially shortened in the corresponding circumferential section compared to the rest of their circumferential sections.

Hydraulically damping rubber bush bearing for vertical mounting

A rubber bearing with graduated damping characteristic has essentially a preferably cylindrical or approximately cylindrical inner part, a tubular outer sleeve arranged coaxially around the inner part as well as a pressure body with chambers for a damping agent. The pressure body is arranged in a fixed manner between the inner part and the outer sleeve. A rubber bearing which has a simple design and effectively damps forces introduced in different ranges of the characteristic due to its graduated damping characteristic is provided. The pressure body of the bearing is divided in the radial direction into a plurality of damping areas whose damping characteristics can be adjusted independently from one another by an intermediate sleeve arranged coaxially to the inner part and the outer sleeve.

A two-chamber step bearing with hydraulic damping, especially for mounting engines in motor vehicles, has at least one fluid-filled working chamber and at least one compensating chamber connected thereto by an overflow channel. An additional, blockable spring element ( ) is arranged in series after the first hydraulic damping spring element comprising the working chamber ( ), the compensating chamber ( ) and the overflow channel ( ), wherein the spring element ( ) is arranged in a separate pretensioning chamber ( ), which is connected to the working chamber ( ) and the compensating chamber ( ) by at least two switching elements ( ) which can be controlled independently from one another, and wherein the pretensioning chamber ( ) can be filled up with hydraulic fluid for blocking the additional spring element ( ) by the vibrations introduced into the two-chamber step bearing from the engine.

Two-chamber step bearing with hydraulic damping

A sleeve-type rubber shock absorber with hydraulic damping for mounts in motor vehicles includes an inner mounting sleeve (1), an outer mounting sleeve (2) surrounding same at a radially spaced location, at least one elastomer body (3), which is adheringly arranged between the two mounting sleeves and forms at least one chamber (4) filled with hydraulic damping agent. A cap (5) sealingly closes the sleeve-type rubber shock absorber, forming a second chamber (6). A channel plate (7) is provided which contains a throttle channel (7.1) connecting the chambers (4 and 6), wherein the outer bearing sleeve (2) has at least two different external diameters, of which the mainly radially loaded area of the smaller diameter is inserted into the motor vehicle component (8). At least two stop buffers (9) are arranged distributed over the circumference and are provided on the corresponding area of the inner mounting sleeve (1). The area of the larger diameter contains the chambers (4, 6), which are separated by the channel plate (7) and are filled with damping agent. The preferably two-part channel plate (7) has a support part (7.2) with the throttle channel (7.1) as well as a cover (7.3) closing same. The support part (7.2) is made in one piece with a diaphragm (7.4), whose radially inner area is sealingly inserted into a complementary mount of the inner mounting sleeve (1).

Sleeve-type rubber shock absorber with hydraulic damping

A ball joint for chassis parts in motor vehicles is described, in which a hinge pin 1 with a spherical part 2 is mounted in a housing 3 by a bearing box 4. The hinge pin is led through an opening 6 out of the housing 3. The housing 3 is sealed by a lid 7, on the opposite side. In this case, the housing is placed in a rigid external bushing 10 with an elastomer sleeve 9 surrounding the housing. Radial surfaces on the housing 3, as well as on the external bushing 10, limit the axial movement of the housing 3 with respect to the external bushing. The radial surfaces of the housing 3 are formed by the two flat sides of a collecting plate 15, which can be firmly connected to the housing 3 first in the assembly of the joint. The collecting plate 15 engages with an axial moving space between arranged radial surfaces of the external bushing 10.

Ball joint for motor vehicles

The radially and axially load-bearing rotary sliding friction bearing for chassis parts in motor vehicles includes a rigid inner bushing (1) and an outer bushing (2), which is rotatable relative to it and is arranged in an elastomeric body (3) that adheres to it. Both bushings have, at least on one axially outer end, axial bearing surfaces at one radially directed flange projection (6, 7) each, wherein the flange projection associated with the outer bushing (2) is provided on an annular axial bearing on a sliding disk (7) and on a support ring (8) pressed onto the adjacent tubular end of the outer bushing (2). The sliding disk and the clamping ring are connected to one another by an elastomeric material in an adhering manner.
