The present invention pertains to a synthesis gas heat exchanger unit with one synthesis gas radiant cooler (1), two synthesis gas convection coolers (23), one crude gas-clean gas heat exchanger (4), one crude gas-inert gas heat exchanger (5), and one dust separator (11). These devices are preferably arranged vertically or slopingly. The crude gas heat exchangers (4, 5, 23) are designed as single-flue, double-flue or multiple-flue heat exchangers. They are elastically supported via claws (10) and are equipped with an electric heater (9). A soot blower system (13) is associated with each flue (4.1, 4.2) as well as (5.1, 5.2) and right hand flue and left hand flue (23.1, 23.2) at the crude gas inlet. Soot blowers (31) are likewise provided on the connection lines (2, 6), and mass flow controllers (7) are provided in the lower connection lines (6).

Synthesis gas heat exchanger unit

A synthesis gas generator with a combustion chamber and quench chamber for generating, cooling and cleaning gases, which are generated by partial oxidation in the combustion chamber of the synthesis gas generator. The combustion chamber (3) and the quench chamber (7) are separate chambers connected by a flow channel (6). Nozzle assemblies (10, 11) with nozzle heads (9, 34), which spray in a quenching medium (8), are arranged in the gas inlet area of the quench chamber (7). The quench zone within the quench chamber (7) is joined by a useful gas-quenching medium-mixing zone. A cone (20) is located at the outlet of the quench chamber. This cone is followed by a water bath (21). The useful gas leaves the synthesis gas generator after deflection by 180.degree. in the rear-side area of the cone (20) via gas outlet openings (23).

Synthesis gas generator with combustion and quench chambers

An opening arrangement in which a sliding plate accommodates a soot blower lance to be inserted into a medium-pressure gas-accommodating space through a tube cage in a boiler heated by waste heat. A soot blower box is provided with an elongated slotted hole. A frame is located between the sliding plate and the slotted opening, and a sheet of ceramic fiber is secured in the frame.

A refractory lining in the transition section of a gasifier to the waste heat boiler with claws/brackets for supporting refractory shaped bricks. Each claw is suspended on hooks in a pipe branch and is protected from overheating by cooling tubes. The refractory lining is supported in the tube bundle by brackets, which are arranged one on top of another and are welded to webs tube-web-tube welding of the tube bundle. The lower bracket at the cooling tube bundle and the horizontal tube wall are protected against clogging with slag by a refractory mass with a drip nose. Expansion joints are provided between the shaped brick segments under the brackets, whereas ring-shaped fiberboard segments are inserted above the claw.

Refractory lining in the transition of a gasifier to the waste heat

A heat-insulating lining on heat exchanger surfaces for reducing the heat flow at the cooling surfaces of a medium- or high-pressure heat exchanger, which comprises a tube-web-tube wall. Corrosion resistant fastening pins are arranged in a weld area on the webs of the cooling surface. A ceramic fiber material is arranged as a heatinsulating material on both sides of the webs up to the level of the outside of the tubes of the tube wall, and segments of a ceramic moleskin mat, which are held by fastening pins and fastening washers, are arranged above it on both sides. An expanded metal, which is protected by a refractory material with good corrosion resistance, is additionally arranged at one or both edge zones and at the locations of the joints of the moleskin mat segments.

Heat-insulating lining on heat exchanger surfaces

A heat insulation and corrosion protection of the inner vessel wall of a heat exchanger in a synthesis gas cooler. The heat insulation and corrosion protection are arranged above a thermal seal fastened between the vessel wall and the cooling tubes. The insulation and protection includes segments of fiber-filled plates, which are fastened to the vessel wall by means of a substructure and an adhesive or foam material. Support rings with a heat insulation protection means absorb the vertical forces. A metallic corrosion protection layer is applied to the inner vessel wall under the thermal seal. Free breathing of the vessel wall is possible and pressure equalization between the gas space and the annular space is guaranteed due to the heat insulation and corrosion protection according to the present invention.

The gasification device includes a pipe wall structure assembled of a plurality of pipe circuits enclosing in a gas tight manner a reactor space. A pressure jacket surrounds at a distance the pipe wall structure and delimits therewith a water filled interspace. All inlet conduits for supplying cooling water to individual pipe circuits pass through the jacket whereas the outlets of the pipe circuits open into the interspace. A common discharge conduit for cooling water is provided in the pressure jacket and communicates with the interspace. The pressure jacket is assembled of two parts interconnected by a releasable flange connection. All inlet conduits and common outlet conduits are attached to the upper part so as to enable the lifting of the entire pipe wall structure upon the lower part together with the upper part.

A stuffing box sealing arrangement for sealing a rotary shaft which extends into a pressure space includes two separate consecutive pressure chambers arranged at axially spaced locations along the shaft and an intervening space sealed with respect to the exterior of the arrangement and the pressure space and arranged between the pressure chambers. A plurality of stuffing sealing rings is accommodated in each of the pressure chambers and two glands are provided each being arranged around the shaft at one of the locations in registry with the respective associated plurality of stuffing sealing rings. Each of the glands is independently pressed against the respective associated plurality of stuffing sealing rings, and lubrication water is supplied into the intervening space to continuously lubricate both pluralities of stuffing sealing rings.

Water feeding conduits connected to the nozzles pass through a sealing web provided between the pipe wall structure of the reactor and a separate pipe wall structure of a gas outlet connection piece provided above the discharge opening of the reactor. The geometric locations of respective nozzles are on a circle whose diameter is larger than that of the gas discharge opening and is smaller than the inner diameter of the pipe wall structure of the connection piece.
