The invention relates to a tomography system (TA) comprising a first (QD) and a second (QD) beam source-detector pair for capturing one series (A, A) of projection image data sets (PB, PB) each from one projection angle (W, W) each and a volume image production system (VE) for producing a series (AV) of volume images (VB) of a vascular system (GS) while taking into account first confidence values (VW) of the first pixel values (PW) and/or while taking into account second confidence values (VW) of the second pixel values (PW). The confidence value (VW, VW) of a pixel value (PW, PW) depends on a pixel-specific traversing length (L) that a projection beam (PS, PS) traverses on a path through parts (Gi) of the vascular system (GS) from the first (Q) or the second (Q) beam source to a pixel-specific sensor element (S) of the associated first (D) or second (D) detector. Angiographic examination method to implement a rotational angiography

A method for guiding nanoparticles to a target location by a magnetic gradient field and/or holding them at the target location is proposed. The magnetic gradient field is generated by a magnet system with at least one magnet. A focus of the magnet system is registered with an X-ray device. At least one three-dimensional image dataset showing the target location is captured by the X-ray device. The position of the target location is determined manually and/or automatically in the image dataset or in an image dataset determined therefrom and is positioned automatically based on the registration of the focus so that the focus coincides with the position of the target location.

A method is proposed for collimating an off-center sub-object of an examination subject by a collimator of an X-ray diagnostic apparatus. The apparatus has a computed tomography imaging system having a first X-ray source and a computed tomography X-ray detector disposed opposite the first X-ray source having a number of individual detectors and an angiographic imaging system having a second X-ray source offset to the first X-ray source and a flat panel X-ray detector disposed opposite the second X-ray source with matrix shaped pixel elements. A 3D image of the subject is taken by the CT imaging system. The off-center sub-object is selected based on the 3D image. The position of the sub-object is determined for a shooting position of the angiographic imaging system according to the fixed relative disposition between the angiographic imaging system and the CT imaging system. The collimator is adjusted accordingly for collimating the off-center section.

An imaging method for representing results of intravascular imaging (IVB) and CFD results of plaques of a vascular vessel tree of a patient and an imaging medical system for execution of the method are proposed. A 3-D image data set of the area under examination is acquired with x-ray beams for the generation of 3-D x-ray images. A 3-D reconstruction image of the area under examination is generated from the 3-D x-ray images. IVB images are generated by intravascular imaging. Larger calcified plaques in the 3-D x-ray images and IVB images are identified for determining orientation points or landmarks. The spatial position of the plaques are correlated and/or registered based on the orientation points or landmarks. The IVB image data and 3-D image data are fused and reproduced.

A method and system for intraoperative guidance in an off-pump mitral valve repair procedure is disclosed. A plurality of patient-specific models of the mitral valve are generated, each from pre-operative image data obtained using a separate imaging modality. The pre-operative image data from the separate imaging modalities are fused into a common coordinate system by registering the plurality of patient-specific models. A model of the mitral valve is estimated in real-time in intraoperative image data using a fused physiological prior resulting from the registering of the plurality of patient-specific models.

A method for correcting truncated projection data of a rotation for a reconstruction technique for computed tomography scans with truncated projection data in the computed tomography images produced by a C-arm is proposed. At least one truncated projection is recorded. The truncated portions prior to acquisition of the rotation for the at least one truncated projection is captured. The truncated projection and the truncated portions are assembled into at least one complete projection. Truncated projection data is acquired during the rotation. The truncated data is estimated based on a model of the patient geometry from the at least one complete projection. A reconstruction technique is performed on the basis of the acquired and the estimated data.

The invention relates to a method for presenting interventional instruments in a 3D data set of an anatomy to be treated. A 3D data set of the anatomy is recorded before introduction of an interventional instrument. Once the interventional instrument has been applied, the spatial position of the instrument is determined by x-ray fluoroscopy from images created at two different angulations. A 3D model of the instrument is formed from the x-ray images. The 3D model of the instrument is fused with the 3D data set of the anatomy. A 3D hologram is reproduced from the fused 3D data set. The 3D hologram is repeatedly reproduced in real time to follow the application of the instrument in the presentation.

A computer tomography apparatus includes an x-ray source which irradiates an examination subject, thereby producing attenuated primary radiation, and scatter radiation. A row of detector elements for the attenuated primary radiation is, during normal operation, disposed behind the examination subject in registry with the x-ray beam. During an examination, the x-ray source and the detector row are rotated around an axis to irradiate the examination subject from different directions. A second row of detector elements, for detecting the scatter radiation, is, during normal operation, disposed next to the primary radiation detector row in the direction of the axis of rotation. During calibration using a standardized scatter element as the examination subject, the primary radiation detector row can be axially displaced to occupy the position normally occupied by the scatter radiation detector row. After calibration, the detector rows are axially displaced in the opposite direction so as to return to their normal operating positions.

A computer tomography apparatus has an annular anode surrounding a volume in which an examination subject is disposed, a source for generating an electron beam, and a coil through which the electron beam passes which deflects the electron beam so as to be incident on a face of the anode and to orbit the examination subject, thereby causing the examination subject to be irradiated in a measuring field from various directions. A control unit is provided for the coil causing the electron beam to be deflected so as to sweep the anode in both the azimuthal and radial directions. The focus of the electron beam on the anode surface thus describes a wave-shaped path, so that the focus path on the anode is lengthened and the thermal load is reduced.

Computer tomography apparatus

A method and apparatus for identifying the distribution of the dielectric constants in an object employ radiation emitted by a microwave transmitter directed at the object, which radiation is received by a microwave detector array. The dielectric constant distribution is calculated in a computer from the output signal of the detector array, and is represented on a monitor. The transmitted and scattered radiation is acquired by the array in a prescribed volume in terms of amplitude and phase. For this purpose, the array has a surface with detector elements thereon which is linearly displaceable in a direction toward the microwave transmitter in steps along a selected path. At each step, the incoming radiation is identified in terms of amplitude and phase at a plurality of measuring locations, the number of measuring locations corresponding to the number of individual detector elements within the array. This measuring phase is thereafter combined with a calibration phase for further processing.
