Apparatus for and method of restoring a damaged area of a coating on a drum body includes a treatment station with a coating-removal unit which initially mechanically frees the damaged area from remaining coating. After cleaning the freed damaged area, a patch is inserted and united with neighboring coating material through hot vulcanization or hot pressing for bonding to the drum body, with the patch having a material composition corresponding to the coating material. Finally after curing, the thus-restored area is surface finished to match the restored coating to the dimension and surface finish of the remaining coating of the drum body.

Method of an arrangement for corona treatment

A corona discharge electrode has a core made of a malleable, at least partially electrically conductive graphite material. The core is coated by a relatively thin layer of a dielectric material of an oxide free ceramic such as silicon nitrite, boron nitrite or aluminum nitrite. The density of the dielectric layer is at least 95% of the theoretically attainable density.

Method of manufacturing a corona discharge electrode and a corona

An electric discharge corona discharge device is disclosed which is useful for rendering of the surface of plastic molded parts capable of being adhesively bound to another part. The device includes flexible, limp counter electrodes which can be adjusted so as to maintain a substantially uniform discharge over the plastic part surface. The discharge is obtained with alternating current and the base underneath the plastic part constitutes the base electrode.
