Dihalotriazolopyrimidine derivatives

An effective and efficient process for the preparation of a dihaloazolopyrimidine having the structural formula ##STR1## In this process, a malonic acid ester is reacted with a heterocyclylamine to form an intermediate salt, which optionally may be acidified to form a dihydroxyazolopyrimidine; the salt or the dihydroxyazolopyrimidine is then halogenated.

Process for the preparation of dihaloazolopyrimidines

This invention relates to certain triazolopyrimidine derivatives of the general formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 represents an optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, alkadienyl, cycloalkyl, bicycloalkyl or heterocyclyl group; R.sup.2 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; or R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 together with the interjacent nitrogen atom represent an optionally substituted cycloalkyl or heterocyclic ring; R.sup.3 represents an optionally substituted cycloalkyl or heterocyclyl group; and R.sup.4 represents a hydrogen or halogen atom or a group --NR.sup.5 R.sup.6 where R.sup.5 represents a hydrogen atom or an amino, alkyl, cycloalkyl or bicycloalkyl group and R.sup.6 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; processes for their preparation; compositions containing such compounds and their use as fungicides.

Triazolopyrimidine derivatives

The invention relates to fungicidal compositions which comprise a carrier and, as active ingredient, a dihalotriazolopyrimidine derivative of general formula (I) in which R represents an optionally substituted branched or straight-chain alkyl or alkoxy group or an optionally substituted cycloalkyl, aryl, aryloxy, or heterocyclyl group, and Hal represents a fluorine, chlorine, bromine or iodine atom; and their use as fungicides. Certain of these dihalotriazolopyrimidine derivatives are novel and a process for the preparation of these compounds is also provided. ##STR1##
