The invention is based on a wiper blade () of flat beam construction having a support element in the form of at least one pre-bent spring rail () to which is fastened, in the central region, a connecting element () for articulatedly connecting to a wiper arm, wherein the connecting element () has two side walls () with open guide profiles (), facing toward one another, for the spring rail (), the side walls () are connected to one another by means of transversely running parts (), and the connecting element () is fixed relative to the spring rail () in the longitudinal direction by means of a fixing element (), wherein the fixing element () engages into cutouts () on the outer longitudinal sides of the spring rail (). It is proposed that the fixing element () has a U-shaped cross-sectional profile with two side walls () which are connected to one another by means of a base () and which are sunk into recesses () on the inner sides of the side walls () of the connecting element (), wherein the base () of the fixing element () runs parallel to the base () of the connecting element (), and lugs () are connected to the side walls () of the fixing element () as an elongation of the side walls () toward the spring rail (), which lugs () engage into the cutouts () of the spring rail () through openings () in the base () of the connecting element ().

A device for the articulated connection of a wiper blade to a wiper arm includes a connection element connected to a carrier element of the wiper blade. The connection element has a side wall on each longitudinal side angled toward the wiper arm. The adapter encompasses the side wall of the connection element on each side and includes a spring switch on the side of the adapter facing the wiper arm and guide and retaining means for the wiper arm. The adapter has at least one first adapter element and one second adapter element. The first adapter element comprises the inner and outer side walls.
