A card housing device of flat construction is disclosed. The device allows for the complete insertion of a card through a narrow housing opening which may be sealed by a seal. The seal includes a sealing element which may be displaced in a direction normal to a displacement plane of the card. Conventional devices of this type are unsuitable for application in a tachograph due to installation requirements. The sealing element on the card housing device is spring-mounted by at least one elastic element.

Card housing device

The invention relates to a chipcard housing having a first and a second central piece, whereby the first central piece can be displaced by a drive. A locking element is also provided by which a displacement of the second central piece is prevented in a first working position and which may be operated by the first central piece such that the locking is released in a second working position. Both central pieces can mutually entrain the other in the second working position by means of a coupling element and the second central piece includes entraining elements for cooperation with a chipcard. The chipcard housing can be very compact and have a high resistance to shock and vibration influences and hence against manipulation.

Smart card holder

For a data card unit (), in which the data cards () are transported by motor into the reading/writing position, a two-armed rocker (), on one arm of which a closing element () is arranged, is provided for closing the insertion opening. The other arm of the rocker () has a sensing element (). The distance between the closing element () and the sensing element () is chosen to be equal to or greater than the length of the data card () and the assignment of the closing element () and the sensing element () to the plane of movement of the data card () is set up such that, during the insertion/ejection of a data card (), the rocker () is pivoted by the data card () and either the closing element () or the sensing element () enters the plane of movement of the data card ().

Data card unit

The present invention relates to a chipcard housing unit having a locking element which may be displaced parallel to the displacement plane of a chipcard. Individual locking elements are provided, mounted such as to be displaced between a cardholder and a control slide mounted thereon. Locking pins, provided on the locking element, engage in guides formed in the control slide. The ends of the locking elements are bent in a suitable manner, preferably hooked, and surround the front face of a chipcard located in the read/write position.

Chipcard-accommodating unit

The aim of the invention is to prevent the plate contacts of chip cards from wearing as a result of vibrations that occur during the operation of a vehicle. To achieve this, the spring contacts of the read/write set of contacts in a holding device for chipcards are separated from the plate contacts of a chip card that has been inserted into the holding device, for a period, during which no trip or driver-related data is transmitted and said contacts are closed for only a relatively short time, i.e. during the reading of the chip card data into the relevant data recording device and during the writing of recorded data to the chip card. The holding device is configured in such a way that the relevant chip card remains inaccessible when the contacts are separated.

The proposed guide shaft which is formed on a card holder has a support, lateral guides and a holding part. The latter is formed and arranged on the card holder in such a way that a tongue which points toward the entrance of the guide shaft and rests in a sprung fashion on the support or on a chip card which has been introduced is implemented, and a gap which corresponds only to the thickness of the chip card is produced between the card holder and the support in the vicinity of the contact field.

A device for receiving data cards, including an essentially square-shaped housing; a guide chute for the data cards, the housing having a loading/output slot which forms an access to the guide chute; arrangement for read-in and readout of data from the data cards; mechanism for locking and unlocking the data cards, including a movable stop provided so as to cooperate with an end side of a loaded data card pointing inwards into the device; a gear connection for connecting the at least one latch with the movable stop; and a safety catch engageable with the geared connection, the at least one latch being arranged so as to embrace an outwardly pointing end side of the data card when the data card is in an end position in the device, the geared connection including a slide having one end connected to the movable stop for the inwardly pointing end side of the datacard, and a second end provided with a set of teeth the latch having a toothed quadrant and being rotatable supported and meshing with the set of teeth of the slide by way of the toothed quadrant.
