Safety ski binding

A ski and ski-binding combination. The ski has several holes for receiving therein fastening screws for the selective fastening of ski-binding elements arranged in the ski in the binding-installation area. The holes are covered, however, are marked to the outside by markings. The arrangement of holes for the ski-binding elements is adjusted to the length of the ski and chosen such that the ski bindings are suited to receive only a limited number of successive ski-boot sizes.

A ski binding comprising a release mechanism controllable voluntarily through a wireless transmission path and releases a lock of a jaw of the binding, which transmission path is controlled by a manually operable switch. To avoid an undesired release of the binding, it is provided that the switch is countersunk into an outwardly opening recess in the handle on a skipole, so that the manually operable part of a button on the switch can be manually engaged only by purposefully inserting a finger of a user's hand into the recess.

A sole-support device consisting of a support member and a continuous or endless band guided transversely with respect to the longitudinal direction of the ski on the support member. In order to guarantee in such a device that a secure support of the sole of the boot on the band occurs and in order to avoid friction between the sole of the boot and the support member, the band is supported with its upper reach in a groove of the support member, the upper side of a front section of the band lying in a plane that is higher than a horizontal plane of a boundary edge of the front wall of the groove, the upper side of a rear section of the band being aligned with an upper boundary edge of a rear wall of the groove or in a horizontal plane which lies lower than the boundary edge.

Sole-support device for ski binding

A cross country ski has a bending resistance which is changeable with the help of at least one bending beam, the beam extending longitudinally of the ski and being arranged in the center of the ski. The bending beam is arranged loosely inside of the ski, symmetrically in relationship to a vertical longitudinal center plane of the ski, and is supported at its two ends on support surfaces of the body of the ski which extend approximately parallel to the running surface. In a first preferred embodiment, pressure can be applied to the beam on a side thereof which does not face the support surfaces by a pressure element which is supported on the body of the ski in the region of the upper side thereof. In a second preferred embodiment, the beam has on its side which does not face the support surfaces a pressure-transmitting member, to which a pressure toward the beam can be applied by a control mechanism.

Ski, in particular a cross-country ski

A device for detecting the forces acting onto a ski binding or a shoe held in such a binding comprising at least one feeler emitting electrical signals in dependency from the occurring forces and an evaluating circuit processing the signals. In order to be able to calculate the state of fatigue of the skier and, if necessary, the condition of the binding, it is provided that an integrator circuit constructed as a counter is connected after the evaluating circuit, which integrator circuit is connected to an indicating device and which can be reset merely by means of a manually operable switching device. The counter can thereby count either signals of the evaluating circuit corresponding with predetermined impacts, or digital signals corresponding with impacts having an energy content, or signals which correspond with those impacts, the rising and dropping speed of which exceed a limit value.

Fatigue indicator

An apparatus for facilitating optimum adjustment of a cross-country ski, the bending resistance and/or arch of which can be adjusted, includes a sensor connected to a control circuit, and the control circuit is in turn connected to either a drive mechanism which automatically controls the adjustment of the ski or to an indicating device which visually indicates the necessary adjustment to be made manually. The control circuit monitors ski performance at a given adjustment for a predetermined interval, thereafter determines an appropriate adjustment, then monitors ski performance at the new adjustment for the predetermined interval, and so forth. A gearing mechanism powered manually or by an electric motor can be provided to effect the automatic adjustment of the ski in response to an output of the control circuit.

An anti-theft lock for securing a binding to a ski, in particular a binding suited for the holding of ski shoes of any desired length without longitudinal adjustment. The binding includes structure which can be locked either in its stepping-in position or in its closed position by a lock, a switch or the like to thereby prevent removal of the binding from the ski.
