A method collects data in a network having a consumption meter as part of a supply network and containing a sensor. The sensor contains a measuring element which provides raw measurement data corresponding to a physical or physicochemical value or parameter. The sensor contains a communication device and a memory. For the determination of the measurement resolution of the sensor the conditions for generating time stampings using a correlation model are determined in advance. On a basis of the correlation model, time stampings of successive raw measurement data in the sensor are generated, the time stampings are stored in the memory. The time stampings are transmitted over a wired connection and/or a radio link so that on the basis of the time stampings using the correlation model the raw measurement data collected by the measuring element are reconstructed and evaluated. Whereas raw measurement data is used for on-demand network analysis.

In one aspect, a data transmitter comprises a transmitter and a changer, wherein the transmitter is configured to transmit a signal, wherein at least one signal parameter of the signal depends on at least one environmental parameter in an environment of the data transmitter, wherein the changer is configured to change the at least one signal parameter of the signal or a parameter on which the at least one signal parameter of the signal depends, in order to conceal the at least one environmental parameter.

A software defined radio type radio receiver is used in an environment that is self-sufficient in energy. The radio receiver has a receiving device, which receives the data in the form of a data packet or a portion thereof or a data stream at a certain data rate, and provides the data for further data processing. Wherein in an operating mode, the data is diverted at the receiving device and supplied to a microcontroller at a sampling rate which preferably can be defined. The microcontroller decimates the data by selecting a subset from the set of samples, and the microcontroller buffers in a memory and provides for further processing the decimated data.

A communication module acquires consumption data from a meter, in particular consumption quantities of electricity, gas, water or heat. The communication module serves to receive consumption data from the meter and to enable the transmission of the consumption data of the meter to a superordinate data collection device. The module has a housing, a control apparatus, its own energy source, an antenna, a first communication interface using which the consumption data can be transmitted from the meter to the communication module, and a second communication interface using which the consumption data can be further transmitted from the communication module to the data collection device. The first communication interface is a standardized close-range interface which supports a plurality of standardized transmission protocols as options and/or the second communication interface is a standardized long-range interface which supports a plurality of standardized transmission protocols as options.

The supply network contains a master in communication with the local sensor via a primary communication path. A method for collecting data of a consumption, a physical or physico-chemical parameter and/or an operating state in a supply network for consumables. A measuring element of a local sensor provides elementary measuring units, which correspond to at least one physical or physico-chemical variable or at least one physical or physico-chemical parameter, as raw measurement data. In order to determine the measurement resolution of the sensor, the conditions for generating time stamps are determined in advance using a correlation model, time stamps of successive raw measurement data are generated in the sensor on the basis of the correlation model, and the time stamps are transmitted via a wired connection and/or via a radio path. A method for operating an electronic consumption-data acquisition device includes wirelessly transferring consumption data to a receiver over a first radio system, operating the consumption-data acquisition device in a first operating mode in which the consumption data is transferred over the first radio system and a second operating mode having a lower rate of transmission and/or readiness to receive compared with the first operating mode, with it being possible to switch between the first and second operating modes. The switchover between the first and second operating modes is performed by a second radio system. A consumption-data acquisition device includes a communication module having a radio apparatus for a second radio system which can be used to perform the switchover between the first and second operating modes.
