In a system and a method for postal matter processing, with automatic reception of postal matter in receiving stations and with a staggered postal matter processing, acquisition of shipping data and providing the postal matter with a machine-readable marking and storage of the mail take place in the receiving stations. The marked postal matter is transported to a remote distributing station having at least one franking means at which transfer of the shipping data allocated to the marking into a memory of the franking means ensues. The postal matter is franked in the distributing station according to the data that are stored in the memory allocated to the marking.

Method for processing postal matter and postal matter processing system

In a method for automatic installation of a franking device, and a franking device operating according to the method, a self-test is conducted in the franking device in order to determine whether an automatic installation is to be implemented and a loading of a customer-specific data set is to be undertaken into a non-volatile memory or, if an installation has already ensued earlier, whether the installation procedure need not be implemented. In the automatic installation procedure, A mirror data set is produced at a data center, corresponding to the machine data stored in the franking device, and the mirror data set is stored in the data center allocated to a numerical code. Customer data for a sold franking device are communicated to the data center. The customer data are stored in the data center allocated to the numerical code. A machine-specific and customer-specific data set is made available in the data center allocated to the numerical code, this the data set including at least data for a specific stamp with temporary and local data. The data set is communicated to the franking location after a reception of corresponding request data or inputs.

Method for automatic installation of franking devices and arrangement for the implementation of the method

An inserter system has controllable, optional delivery of sheet filling material and envelopes into which the filling material is to be inserted feeds these items from respective multiple station feeders in order to transfer a compiled set of filling material to the inserter and folding unit aligned and with identically oriented leading edges. The delivery of the filling material and envelopes for the insertion ensues without a conveyor deck and without an intermediate stop, proceeding from the programmable multiple station feeders to the folding unit integrated in the inserter. Driven, common drum arrangements for both systems serve as connecting elements between the respective multiple station feeders for filling material and envelopes. The common drum arrangement allows the connection of devices for inserting mailings given a minimization of the structural size and an increase in the reliability at the same time.
