In a method for guiding a cutting head in relation to a material, a position and a speed of the cutting head are set by means of a drive unit depending on a desired position value and a desired speed value established by an interpolator unit, a control signal for the drive unit is determined, a distance between the cutting head and the material is determined with a distance sensor, and a corresponding distance signal is provided. The distance signal is compared with a predetermined comparison distance to yield a distance-control signal, and the control signal for the drive unit is additionally determined dependent upon a distance-control signal. The comparison distance is subtracted from the distance signal and the difference is superimposed on the actual position signal, which is delayed by a first time period, wherefrom the distance-control signal is determined.

Guidance of a cutting head in relation to a material by using sensor delay time

The invention relates to a method () for determining an optimised trajectory for a non-productive movement of a tool () of a machine tool, from a starting position () to an end position (). The non-productive movement is carried out in a spatially restricted travelling area () which is represented by geometric conditions. The method according to the invention is executed with the avoidance of collisions and comprises the step of determining a first trajectory () of the tool () by means of a travel-finding algorithm. In this step, the first trajectory () is optimised for the non-productive movement with respect to at least one selectable target parameter.

The invention relates to a method () for switching between desired value filters () of a drive means () for a machine axis () during operation. The sum of a filter delay time and of first and second propagation delays is an integer multiple of the cycle duration of the disturbance, and a sum of the filter delay time and the first propagation delay is an integer multiple of the cycle duration minus a propagation time, which elapses until a change in the target value causes a change in the actual value.

The invention relates to a method for guiding the movement of a movable machine element () of a numerically controlled tool machine or production machine on a predetermined movement path (s) of the machine element (). Supporting points () are defined in the working area () of the machine. Method for guiding the movement of a movable machine element of a numerically controlled machine tool of production machine by determining inertia matrices for support points using acceleration and torque coefficients

A controller for a machine tool or production machine is disclosed. The controller includes system software that implements a control function for the machine tool or production machine, real-time basic application software and real-time custom-designed application software for expanding the system software, and a software interface allowing the real-time basic application to access data and functions of the system software. The controller further includes a custom-designed software interface provided by the basic application software for communication between the basic application software and the custom-designed application software. With the disclosed controller, custom-designed application software can be integrated in the system software of the controller without detailed information about the system software of the controller.

Controller for a machine tool or production machine

A device and method for apportioning a movement of a machine element driven by at least two drives for movement along a drive axis of a machine tool or production machine are described. A low-pass filter filters predetermined desired drive axis values to generate filtered desired drive axis values, with a first controller receiving the filtered desired drive axis values as control input value for controlling a first of the at least two drives. A delay unit with a constant group delay time temporally delays the desired drive axis values and generates delayed desired drive axis values, whereafter a subtracter determines a difference between the filtered desired drive axis values and the delayed desired drive axis values. A second controller receives the determined difference and provides, based on the determined difference, a second control input value for controlling a second of the at least two drives. With these features according to the invention, a movement of a machine element along a drive axis of a machine tool or production machine can be optimally apportioned between two or more drives.
