A filter element has a filter medium body with a first side and an oppositely positioned second side, wherein one of the first and second sides is the inflow side of the filter medium body and the other one is the outflow side of the filter medium body. A first sealing or supporting element is arranged at the first side. A second sealing or supporting element is arranged at the second side.
