The invention relates to a high-pressure gas-discharge lamp, having at least one gastight fused press-seal between a glasslike material and molybdenum, wherein the molybdenum in the fused press-seal is at least partly exposed to an oxidizing environment and at least that part of the molybdenum that is exposed to the oxidizing environment is covered with a coating, and the coating comprises at least one oxide from among FeO, TaO, NbO, AlO, SiO, TiO, ZrO, HfO, and/or one nitride from among TiN, ZrN, HfN, AlN, BN, and/or one carbide from among TiC, ZrC, HfC, VC, NbC, TaC, BC.

High-pressure gas-discharge lamp with improved temperature resistance

A low-pressure mercury-vapor discharge lamp has a discharge vessel with a filling of mercury and an inert gas. Electrodes in the discharge space have electrode shields, which operate at temperatures above 450&deg; C. An inner surface of the electrode shield may have a heat-absorbing coating, for example a carbon film. The electrode shield may be supported by a support wire, at least a part of which is made from stainless steel. A lamp according to the invention has comparatively low mercury consumption.

Low-pressure mercury-vapor discharge lamp

The invention relates to a cold-storage cartridge comprising a housing (1,2) having an interior into which a cold-storage medium (4) is introduced and having a device for indicating the charging state of the cold-storage medium. A very simple arrangement for the indication of the fully charged state is obtained in that the indicator device comprises an indicator substance (13) whose melting temperature Ti is lower than the melting temperature Ts of the cold-storage medium (4), in that the indicator substance (13) is held in a container (10) which is in heat-conducting contact with the cold-storage medium (4), in that the container (10) comprises an optically transparent wall portion (8) and in that the indicator device is connected to the cold-storage cartridge in such a manner that the transparent wall portion (8) is visible from outside the cold-storage cartridge.

Cold-storage cartridge

A protection against overheating not only of the heat transmitting component (2), but also of the components (3) surrounding said component is achieved. A latent heat store (1) is provided between the heat transmitting component (2) or a part thereof and a component (3) to be protected from overheating or a part thereof. The latent heat store (1) comprises a latent heat storing agent, whose melting-point T is between the operating temperature of the heat transmitting component (2) and the maximum permissible temperature of the component (3) to be protected. The quantity is proportioned so that the storage capacity of the latent heat store (1) is sufficient for the amount of heat maximally to be transmitted by the heat transmitting component (2). Between the heat transmitting component (2) and the latent heat source (1) and between the latent heat store (1) and the component (3) to be protected a thermal insulation (4,5) is provided. The melting-point T of the latent heat storing agent and the thicknesses d of the insulations (4,5) are proportioned so that the temperature gradient .DELTA.T/d from the heat transmitting component (2) which is at operating temperature to the latent heat store (1) is greater than the temperature gradient .DELTA.T/d from the latent heat store (1) to the component (3) to be protected.

Cooling arrangement for heat generating electrical components

In an electrical fuse which serves for temperature limitation, which comprises a closed housing (1) and in which a spring mechanism (2,3,4) interrupts an electrical contact as soon as a fuse body (6) serving as a support for the spring mechanism liquefies and relieves the spring mechanism, the fuse body mainly consists of a saturated dicarboxylic acid containing 4 to 14 carbon atoms.

A heat storage device comprising a closed reservoir within which is positioned a flexible closed container of smaller volume. The flexible container encloses a liquefiable heat-accumulating material; and the reservoir is provided with a heat-transport medium outside of the flexible container. The heat-transport medium always remains in the liquid phase and, upon solidification and shrinkage of the heat-accumulating material, fills the spaces thus formed between the flexible container and the reservoir wall in order to maintain adequate transfer of heat.
