A device for laterally guiding a metal strip () running over a loop lifter () between two roll stands () of a finishing train. The device includes at least one main member module () extending in a direction between the roll stands. The module has a guiding plane (), and also supports a number of wear members (), each with a wear surface (). Those wear members can be turned to a number of rotational positions. At least two wear members () are respectively arranged between one of the roll stands () and the loop lifter, wherein, seen in the direction of the loop lifter (), the surface area of the wear surface () of adjacent wear member bodies () increases. During the operation of the device, at least one of the wear members is rotated while the metal strip () is running to expose another area of the wear surface to the side of the strip.

A device for lateral guidance () of a metal strip () moving on a metal belt conveying device, including at least one base body module () includes an essentially vertical guiding plane (), at least one wear body () having a wear surface () can be rotated into several defined rotational positions in a controlled manner. The wear surface () is substantially planar, and in all of its defined rotational positions, is parallel to the guiding plane (). Further, a method for lateral guidance of metal strips () moving on a metal belt conveying device includes, after a first metal strip has passed through the metal belt conveying device, and prior to a second metal strip entering the metal belt conveying device, the wear body () is rotated from a first to a second defined rotational position in a controlled manner, wherein in all defined rotational positions, the wear surface () is parallel to the guiding plane ().

Device and method for guiding metal strips having wear bodies

A driver roller () having a rolling body () and at least one axle shaft journal (). The at least one axle shaft journal () is fixed to the rolling body () indirectly via at least one support element (), which is fixed to the rolling body (), by means of removable connecting means. The at least one axle shaft journal () is arranged such that the longitudinal axis of the journal is coaxial to the longitudinal axis of the rolling body (), and the axle shaft journal is a separate component. The support element () has the shape of a ring or a disk with a groove () in an end wall of the ring- or disk-shaped support element (). The support element () has a flange () on which the axle shaft journal () is flange-mounted. Such a driver roller can be easily assembled from modules, thereby simplifying maintenance and storage.
