A control unit for setting operating functions and operating parameters in an electrical household appliance includes a control knob retained on a control area. The control knob can be rotated about a knob axis for setting the operating parameters of, for example, a heating level. In order to simplify operation of the control unit, the control knob can be tilted or pushed out of an initial position or knob axis, into a selection position in order to select a specific operating function, for example a specific cooking position.

An electric oven with an oven muffle which can be closed by a door and in which a cooking-product support can be held on a holder element. The cooking-product support has its own cooking-product support heater element, and via a power supply element, the cooking-product support heater element can be fed with an electric voltage of the oven, is known. In order to keep the outlay for providing electrical contact for the cooking-product support heater element low, the holder element for the cooking-product support at the same time serves as the power supply conduit or element.

Carbonator apparatus used in connection with a postmix beverage dispenser system includes a water delivery branching circuit for the water fed under pressure from a fresh water source and which is used to fill a storage tank for carbonated water produced therein and to supply fresh water to a recirculating type of fresh water cooling structure which includes a water circulating coil located in the bottom of the storage tank and/or a water channel guide located on the outside of the storage tank. The branching system selectively enables fresh water to be fed into a carbonator storage tank where the water is blended with CO.sub.2 gas or is guided around it while being cooled without being carbonated so that either cooled carbonated water or non-carbonated water is delivered to a mixing station along with a drink concentrate.

The storage tank for providing liquids to a unit further processing these liquids comprises in its bottom area a plug-in connection for a drawing unit, and in the area of this elastically designed plug-in connection, a pivot bearing is placed offset to the centroidal axis of the storage tank and relative to the centroidal axis, an elastic block with an evaluating element is placed relative to the pivot bearing.

For enhanced cooling power in a beverage vending machine the compressor is arranged in a recess of the apparatus housing, and the condenser in the form of a coil-shaped tube, is arranged in a convection shaft connected to the recess. One wall of the shaft is formed by the rear wall of the housing. Inside the shaft the tube coil of the condenser is disposed diagonally upwards in the direction of the rear wall of the apparatus housing.

Cooling apparatus

In a post-mix beverage dispenser a heat conducting plate assembly couples the bottom wall of a carbonator tank to the side walls of beverage concentrate storage tanks for the bi-directional transfer of heat therebetween. The cold temperature of the carbonator tank including an ice bank therein chills the concentrate to help achieve a suitable serving temperature of a finished drink. The higher temperature of the concentrate helps warm the bottom area of the carbonator tank in the region of an outlet opening to preclude freezing of carbonated water in the outlet opening.

Refrigeration system for a beverage dispenser

A drive system for side-by-side piston pumps connected to beverage concentrate containers in a post-mix beverage dispenser system is described. An electric motor rotates a drive shaft in either a forward or reverse direction for the selective actuation of one or the other of the piston pumps. First and second hollow shafts are concentrically disposed around the drive shaft, one hollow shaft being mechanically coupled through a cam and lever arrangement to each of the piston pumps. Free-wheeling clutches are provided between the drive shaft and each of the respective hollow shafts such that one hollow shaft is coupled to rotate with the drive shaft in the forward direction of rotation of the drive shaft and the other hollow shaft is coupled to rotate with the drive shaft in the reverse direction of rotation of the drive shaft.
