Method and apparatus for straightening the pins of a computer chip, logic or integrated circuit, or other type of semiconductor device having a pin grid array (16). The apparatus includes a rotating turret (28) for positioning the pin grid array (16) at a plurality of stations (20) and (22) for performing a series of straightening operations to the pins (18) at each station, first and second rakes (110) and (110.sup.2), each of the rakes (110 and 110.sup.2) having a plurality of tines (112) extending therefrom for insertion between the pins (18) of the pin grid array (16) in first and second directions, a jig (136) having a plurality of holes (146) therein for receiving the pins (18) when the jig (136) is moved toward the wafer (40) of the pin grid array (16) to straigthen the pins (18), and appropriate controls for advancing the pin grid array (16) positioned in the turret (28) from one station to another and controlling the insertion of the tines (112) of the first and second rakes (110) and (110.sup.2), the raising and lowering of the rakes (110) and (110.sup.2) and the jig (136), and activating the mechanisms for loading and unloading the pin grid array (16) into the turret (28). The method includes the steps of raking the pins (18) of the pin grid array (16) in a first direction, raking the pins (18) in a second direction, and then finely straightening the pins (18) by moving a jig (136) having a plurality of holes (146) therein for receiving the pins (18) toward the wafer (40).

Method and apparatus for straightening the pins of a pin grid array

An inflatable marking device for marking a position comprising an inflatable balloon for receiving a lighter than air gas for inflating the balloon to cause the balloon to rise to mark a position. A line is secured at one end around the throat of the balloon and at the other end to a handle to maintain the balloon at the desired position. The handle is provided with a nipple for receiving the throat of the balloon, a spool around which the line is wound, and a shoulder to keep the line from overlapping onto the nipple when unwinding the line from the spool. One end of the handle is an opening for sealing around a gas cartridge when the cartridge is inserted therein, and a pin valve is positioned within the opening for engaging the cartridge to cause the gas to escape from the cartridge, through the nipple, and into the balloon.

A combination car seat and stroller having a plurality of wheels which are pivotable between a first, lowered position for use as a stroller and a second, raised position for use as a car seat. An extendable handle is provided for pushing the apparatus when the wheels are in the first, lowered position. A spring or clip is provided for locking the wheels in the first, lowered position for use as a stroller. The wheels are pivoted to a second, raised position to allow the apparatus to be placed on the seat of an automobile, an airplane seat, or other surface. Slots in the arms of the chair are provided for releasably engaging the apparatus with the seatbelt of the automobile or airplane seat. The apparatus is provided with a selectably extendable footrest whch can be retracted when the wheels are pivoted to the second, raised position.

Method and apparatus for applying a flow of insulating material such as silicone to predetermined locations on printed circuit boards to avoid damaging the components on the circuit boards, such as solenoids and buzzers, whose functions will be impaired by the application of such material thereto. The apparatus is comprised of a pump which delivers a flow of insulating material to a manifold, the manifold having a plurality of lengths of flexible tubing attached thereto which serve as nozzles for dispensing the flow of insulating material. A printed circuit board is mounted on a conveyor and the conveyor is advanced until the printed circuit board is under the manifold, at which time the manifold is lowered to place the nozzles in close proximity to the printed circuit board so that the flow of insulating material will be directed to predetermined locations on the printed circuit board. The flexible nozzles are selectively positioned to direct the flow to those predetermined locations. A wave coating apparatus is provided to coat the bottom of the printed circuit board.

Method and apparatus for coating of circuit boards

A valving mechanism for a cylinder-piston unit wherein the extreme positions of the piston are not positively controlled by a crankshaft or similar device. Inlet and exhaust valves are respectively mounted in a cylinder head and are operated by actuating rods projecting into the path of the piston.
