A piece of furniture including a body and at least one flap that can be upwardly displaced by means of at least one actuating arm which is joined to the flap in an articulated manner and can preferably be pivoted about a horizontal axis. At least one actuating arm is subjected to the action of a spring device, and at least one electric drive acts on at least one actuating arm. A coupling device acts between the electric drive and the actuating arm, said coupling device having a free wheel for freely displacing the actuating arm into an open position and/or a closed position, in at least one rotary direction over a defined angular region.

An actuating mechanism for a pivotably mounted actuating arm for driving a flap of a piece of furniture includes a spring device and a transmission mechanism. The spring device includes a spring-loaded setting member and the transmission mechanism converts the movement of the setting member into a pivoting movement of the actuating arm. The transmission mechanism includes at least one pivotably mounted interlever interacting between the setting member and the actuating arm so that interaction between the interlever and the setting member or the actuating arm occurs by a setting contour. The transmission mechanism includes at least one adjustment device to alter the transmission ratio between the movement of the setting member and the pivoting movement of the actuating arm.

The invention relates to an actuating mechanism for a swivel-mounted actuating arm, especially for driving a lid of an item of furniture. Said mechanism comprises a spring device including a biased actuating element and a translatory mechanism which translates the movement of the actuating element into a swiveling movement of the actuating arm. Said translatory mechanism comprises at least one adjusting device for varying the translation ratio between the movement of the actuating element and the swiveling movement of the actuating arm.

A damper housing is fixed onto the hinge cup, and the damper housing can be fastened onto or removably secured to the hinge cup. The damper housing is disposed at least partially outside the boring when the hinge cup is inserted into the boring in the furniture part.
