Disclosed herein is a process for recycling propylene-ethylene copolymers to obtain polymers having good optical and mechanical properties, and good processability. The process comprises polymerizing propylene and ethylene under dynamic conditions; collecting the resulting copolymer powders as a mixture having an MFRranging from 1.5 to 80.0 g/10 min and an ethylene content from 1.0 to 4.0 wt. %; compounding the mixture in the presence of a radical initiator and a clarifying agent; and extruding the mixture into pellets. The pellets have an MFRranging from 20 to 120 g/10 min; a ratio of MFR/MFR>1; an ethylene content ranging from 1.0 to 4.0 wt %; a crystallization temperature ranging from 100 to 125° C.; and a flexural modulus of 850 MPa or more. The disclosure also relates to the propylene-ethylene copolymer pellets thus obtained; articles made from the pellets; and the use of the pellets in injection molding applications.

New CCrandom copolymer (RACO), which shows improved sealing behaviour due to low sealing initiation temperature (SIT) and high hot tack force. In addition, the inventive CCrandom copolymer (RACO) shows an excellent sterilization behaviour, i.e. retention of low haze level after sterilization. The present invention is furthermore related to the manufacture of said CCrandom copolymer (RACO) and to its use.

Multilayer film

A process for reducing the volatile and semi-volatile organic content (VOC and FOG values) of a heterophasic polypropylene composition, the heterophasic polypropylene composition comprising (i) at least 15 wt.-% of at least a first heterophasic polypropylene; (ii) less than 15 wt.-% of at least one elastomeric polyolefin, (iii) at least one filler; (iv) optionally polyethylene; and (v) optionally further polyolefins to below 100 μg/g (VOC, VDA 278 October 2011) and below 390 μg/g (FOG, VDA 278 October 2011), the process involving aerating the first heterophasic polypropylene and each further polyolefin component that is present in an amount of at least 15 wt.-% relative to the total weight of the heterophasic polypropylene composition, before extruding these aerated components with the at least one elastomeric polyolefin and the at least one filler and the optional polyethylene and/or optional further polyolefin(s).

Blown films based on a blend of a CCrandom copolymer and a C-based plastomer, which combine low scaling initiation temperature (SIT), good optical properties and an improved stiffness/impact balance, and which also show an excellent sterilization behaviour.

Long-chain branched propylene polymer composition

The present invention is directed to a polypropylene composition (P) comprising a copolymer (C) of propylene and 1-hexene comprising a first random propylene copolymer (A) of propylene and a 1-hexene, and a second random propylene copolymer (B) of propylene and 1-hexene having a higher 1-hexene content than the first random propylene copolymer (A) as well as a plastomer (PL) being an elastomeric copolymer of ethylene and at least one Cto Cα-olefin. Further, the present invention is directed to an article comprising said polypropylene composition (P) and the use of said polypropylene composition (P) as a sealing layer in a multi-layer film.

Heterophasic polypropylene copolymers

A heterophasic polyolefin composition comprising 55 to 95 wt.-% based on the total weight of the heterophasic polyolefin composition of a propylene butene random copolymer (A) having an MFR(230° C.) of 0.3 to 100.0 g/10 min and a butene content of 1.5 to 8.0 wt.-%, wherein the propylene butene random copolymer is obtained by a process using a single site catalyst (I) and 5 to 45 wt.-% based on the total weight of the heterophasic polyolefin composition of a copolymer of ethylene (B) having a density in the range of 910 to 935 kg/mand an MFR(190° C.) of 0.5 to 10 g/10 min, wherein the copolymer of ethylene (B) is obtained by a process using a single site catalyst (II).

Disclosed is a process for producing a propylene polymer composition, which includes (a) polymerizing propylene in the presence of a polymerization catalyst to produce a propylene polymer; (b) recovering the propylene polymer, wherein the recovered propylene polymer has a xylene cold solubles (XCS) fraction in an amount of less than 3.0 wt. % based on the total weight amount of the recovered propylene polymer; (c) extruding the propylene polymer in the presence of a peroxide for introducing long chain branching into the propylene polymer to form a propylene polymer composition; and (d) recovering the propylene polymer composition, wherein the recovered propylene polymer composition of step (d) has a lower melt flow rate MFR(230°° C., 2.16 kg) compared to the recovered propylene polymer of step (b).
