A weaving machine for the manufacture of leno cloths includes a leno apparatus with leno elements () for the forming of a shed () as well as additionally a cleaning apparatus with a plurality of nozzles () for the removal of contaminations in the region of the leno apparatus and of the shed (). Two of the nozzles () are arranged above the shed, by means of which a compressed air flow (-) which is directed downwardly through the shed () from above is produced, and one of the nozzles () is arranged in the lower region of the leno elements, by means of which a compressed air flow () which is directed substantially horizontally towards the leno elements () is produced. In addition, a suction nozzle () by means of which a downwardly directed suction air flow () is produced is arranged beneath the shed.

Weaving machine for the manufacture of leno cloths

A system for inserting a weft thread into a shed of an air jet weaving machine includes a thread store with a measuring apparatus, a plurality of air nozzles for the insertion of the weft thread and a control system which is connected to the measuring apparatus in order to be able to control the compressed air supply of the air nozzles in dependence on measurement values of the measuring apparatus. Switch-on points are associated with the air nozzles, with the control system charging one or more of the air nozzles with compressed air as soon as a predictor value for the position of the weft thread tip, which is formed with the help of the measurement values, reaches the switch-on point of the relevant air nozzle or air nozzles respectively.

System and method for inserting a weft thread

A weaving machine for the manufacture of leno cloths includes a leno apparatus with leno elements (') for the forming of a shed () as well as additionally a cleaning apparatus with a plurality of nozzles () for the removal of contaminations in the region of the leno apparatus and of the shed (). A method for the weft insertion in a jet weaving machine is proposed, in which in each work cycle a weft thread (S) of predeterminable length which is to be inserted is drawn off from a winding drum () of a thread supply apparatus (), the weft thread (S) is inserted into an open shed () by means of a main nozzle () which is fed with a transport medium, is bound in into the cloth (G) through the change of shed, and is severed at the cloth edge which is near the main nozzle (). In each work cycle the drawing off of the weft thread (S) to be inserted is interrupted at least once in such a manner that at first a first predeterminable thread length is released for the drawing off from the winding drum () and then at least one further predeterminable thread length is also released for the drawing off from the winding drum ().

Method and apparatus for the weft insertion in a jet weaving machine

The weaving machine comprises a needle bar () and an insertion-element () with which warp threads () are guided and which are two components of a shed forming apparatus for the manufacture of leno cloths (). The two components are moved vertically in a reciprocal manner. A horizontal displacement movement () transverse to the direction of the warp thread is executed with the insertion element in addition to the vertical movement () The movements of the two components cause a leno binding to take place in interplay with the insertion of a weft thread ('). The shed forming apparatus can be modified such that, on the one hand, the horizontal displacement movement () of the insertion element is switched off and, on the other hand, for both components a stroke (h) of the vertical movement () is in each case increased and controlled in such a manner that a cloth without leno binding, in particular a simple cloth (&#x2032;), can be manufactured.

An apparatus at a weaving machine serves for the protection of persons in danger regions which extend about a beat-up edge along a weaving width and beyond the latter. In this apparatus, monitoring means which emit and register light beams are arranged about the danger regions. Signals which arise as a result of an encroachment into the danger regions and through which an operating stop of the weaving machine can be triggered can be produced in the monitoring means by means of the light beams. First monitoring means are associated with a more comprehensive region and second monitoring means are associated with a central region, the actual danger region. During a normal operation of the weaving machine the first monitoring means are in an active state which ensures the protection. An activation of the second monitoring means is provided for use during activities which are occasionally to be carried out at the weaving machine within the more comprehensive region.

Apparatus at a weaving machine for the protection of persons

A method for the operation of a thread supplying apparatus of a weaving machine. The method include transmitting information about a required weft thread to subsequent weft insertions. The information is transmitted after every complete weaving machine cycle to the thread supplying apparatus and at the same time. Thus, the information about the required weft thread of at least one of the two subsequent weft insertions has already previously been transmitted.

An apparatus for severing a weft thread which is to be inserted into a shed comprises a clamping device with a stationary clamping part and a settable clamping part in order to hold back the weft thread and a severing device in order to sever the weft thread after release by the clamping device. The severing of different yarn types is ensured by means of a problem-free clamping of the weft thread in the thread clamp.

The weaving machine with a weft monitoring insertion system (1) for a large number of different weft threads (11, 11', 11') comprises a weft insertion member (6, 60), thread brakes (3), a weft thread selector (4) for the serving of a thread (11, 11', 11') or of more than one thread at the same time, a thread monitor (51) for weft threads (11) which are correctly inserted, and an electronic and programmable control member (8) for the setting of the thread brakes. The weft threads (11), when correctly inserted, form incoming angles (.alpha.) at the thread monitor in the presence of a deflection which depend on the choice of the weft thread. Utilizing the thread monitor (51) a signal can be produced for the control member (8) which is dependent on the incoming angle and the thread tension. Control signals can be calculated and produced in the control member as a result of this signal and as a result of information on the current serving of the weft thread or of the weft threads, i.e. of the presentation of the threads to be inserted through the weft thread selector (4).

Weft monitoring insertion system for a plurality of different weft

An apparatus for changing the beat-up positions of a reed in a weaving machine. The apparatus includes a drive, a drive member, a transmission and a kinematic chain. The kinematic chain is connected to the transmission and the pivot axle for the reed, with the pivot axle being pivotally mounted on the sley sword. A basic movement is imparted by the drive to the apparatus with the beat-up position of the pivot axle of the reed being changed by the drive member.

A Jacquard weaving machine includes a weaving apparatus and a Jacquard apparatus, which are both connected to one another for the transmission of torque via a mechanical transmission device and are driven by a common motor. An additional drive device is provided which acts at least on the Jacquard apparatus. An angle sensor is provided for the measurement of an angle of rotation and/or a torque sensor is provided for the measurement of the torque present between the weaving machine and the Jacquard apparatus. The sensors are connected to a control device that controls the drive device in such a manner that peak values in the torque and/or fluctuations in the speed of rotation are reduced.

Terry cloth is woven by determining the pile warp yarn consumption during partial and full beat-ups of the pile warp on the basis of reference pattern data established for the terry cloth that is to be woven and which is used to control the payout of pile warp several picks in advance of the pick when a given length of pile warp yarn is actually needed. A feed-back arrangement compares the required length of pile warp for any given beat-up with the length of pile warp actually paid out and makes adjustments to the pile warp payout mechanism to compensate for any differences between them. As the length of pile warp yarn between a supply thereof and the fell in the weaving machine varies, due to differences between the instantaneous rates of yarn payout and consumption and/or other factors, a compensating roller in engagement with the pile warp yarn keeps its tension constant to assure the weaving of correctly sized terry loops.

A loom with two or more sectional warp beam, each associated with a measuring device for detecting the length of at least one of the warp threads, which runs off the sectional beam in question during a given advance of warp thread. Each measuring device has a measuring roller which is urged against a number of warp threads, e.g., against the circumference of the wound sectional warp beam and which is driven by them during the advance of warp thread, so that it is able to transmit a corresponding control signal to a control equipment. The control equipment regulates the r.p.m. of the sectional warp beams in dependence upon these control signals in the sense of keeping constant the predetermined length of any given warp thread advance. The invention is particularly useful for weaving off sectional warp beams having different winding diameters for assuring a homogeneous appearance of the weave across its entire width.

Loom having at least two sectional warp beams

A method of restarting a loom after an interruption in the weaving process. A cloth fell (15) is moved from an operative or beating position (15) to a second position (15') away from a sley (4). The weft yarn is prevented from being fed into a shed (20) and the loom is then driven in a idling motion for a number of weaving cycles. A shed forming motion 3 and at least one of the warp let-off motion 10 and the cloth take-up motion 12 are driven independently of the predetermined weaving program. When the loom has reached its original dynamic operative state and the warp threads are at the original operative tension, the cloth fell is advanced to the beating position of the sley and the loom is restarted according to the predetermined weaving program. This method prevents visible points of start from occurring in the fabric because of the interruption in the weaving process.
