A method for assembling cable wrapping tapes. From an adhesive tape parent roll, strip-like adhesive tapes (), each having two cut edges () on the sides, are produced from a textile material which has an adhesive coating () on one side, by cutting in the drawing direction of the parent roll. The cutting is performed using an ultrasound-excited cutting tool () and wherein the cutting is performed using a cooled cutting tool (). An adhesive tape (), having a strip-like textile carrier material () and an adhesive coating () applied to one side and two cut edges () on the sides. The cut edges () are created by ultrasound cutting, and the textile carrier material () of the carrier is fused to its cut edges (). No adhesive coating () exists on the cut edges (); which are free of lint and threads.

Method for assembling textile adhesive tapes

An apparatus for producing adhesive tape for sheathing of extended products, having two tape plies, having a carrier material with an adhesive coating. The carrier material being unwound from a feeding roll, the one tape ply with its adhesive coating being laminated against the other tape ply with a lateral projection (&#xdc;, &#xdc;) on at least one side. The carrier material is unwound from a feeding roll, which is configured as a wide roll, on which the carrier material has a greater width than its width required for laminating, and the carrier material is cut into two strips extending in along the tape which have the width required for laminating, the strips being separated and laminated such that each strip forms a tape ply in at least one adhesive tap.
