To compensate for artifacts in a visual display, a detector is provided having a first sensor element ('&#x2033;) including a plurality of first pixel elements () arranged linearly one behind another, and a second sensor element (&#x2032;&#x2033;) having a plurality of second pixel elements () arranged linearly one behind another. Edge pixel elements (), which are arranged linearly one behind another and in line with the first and second central pixel elements (), are provided in a gap between the closest-together first and second central pixel elements () of the first and second sensor elements (&#x2032;&#x2033;) arranged next to one another. The edge pixel elements () have a width that is less than first and second widths of the respective first and second central pixel elements ().

A method for calibrating an X-ray inspection system for a tire. The X-ray inspection system includes an X-ray tube, a linear X-ray detector, and a manipulator for the tire. The method includes moving one of the X-ray tube, the linear X-ray detector, and the manipulator along a travel path from a set starting position to a set end position, capturing, at a preset reading rate during the movement of one of the X-ray tube, the linear X-ray detector, and the manipulator, a continuous capture of X-ray radiography images of a cord within the tire, tracking the cord using successive X-ray radiography images, and deducing an absolute position of the cord using a total shift of the cord in the X-ray radiography images between the starting position and the end position and using known geometric data.

Method for calibrating an X-ray testing system for a tire type and method for checking the position of cords in a tire

An X-ray line detector includes a housing and a predefined number of carrier modules having the same width disposed in the housing. A one-piece printed circuit board, on which a photodiode is arranged, is attached to each carrier module. Each printed circuit board is wider than an active area of pixels constituting the photodiode and ascintillator element is attached to each photodiode. Each scintillator element has a length that exactly covers the active area in the width thereof plus an interspace between two adjacent pixels of a photodiode. The width of each carrier module is at most twice as great as the length of a scintillator element. The carrier modules are arranged in two rows in the housing such that the photodiodes of each row are opposite each other, the scintillator elements abut against each other upon contact, and mutually contacting scintillator elements are arranged in respectively opposite rows.

X-ray line detector and method for the production thereof

An X-ray line detector includes a housing having an upper part a lower part and a linear inlet slot for X-ray radiation to be detected. At least one detector element including a plurality of linearly arranged photodiodes is disposed opposite the inlet slot. Each photodiode is arranged on a printed circuit board mounted on a base carrier disposed in the housing. Each photodiode has a multiplicity of pixels including respective active areas of equal width arranged equidistantly in relation to each other with distances between the active areas being equidistant. Adjacent printed circuit boards are spaced apart from each other at a distance such that edge pixels on the respective adjacent printed circuit boards are disposed at a distance from one another corresponding to a sum of the width of the active area of a pixel and twice the distance between adjacent pixels of a photodiode.

X-ray line detector

A method for automatic defect recognition in testpieces by means of an X-ray examination unit having a mechanical manipulator for positioning the testpiece in a beam path of the X-ray examination unit, wherein a positioning image of the testpiece is compared with an ideal reference image. An axis of rotation, an angle of rotation and a displacement vector are calculated in order to arrive at an exact congruence of the positioning image of the testpiece with the ideal reference image. The values of the axis of rotation, angle of rotation and displacement vector are then relayed to the mechanical manipulator and the latter then transfers the testpiece into the position corresponding to these values.

Method for automatic defect recognition in testpieces by means of an X-ray examination unit

The invention relates to the use of a cylindrical test body with one or more spherical cavities for testing the function and defect recognition quality of systems for the automatic recognition of defects in castings and method for the manufacture thereof. All the prior art testing possibilities are not in accordance with practice and suffer from different advantages. The invention surprisingly obviates this problem by the use of a cylindrical test body with one or more spherical cavities for testing the function and defect recognition quality of systems for the automatic recognition of defects in castings and which is fixed on or in the casting to be tested. Thus, the invention has created test bodies or objects, which better approximate the shape of natural defects and which are simple and inexpensive to manufacture in reproducible manner. These test bodies contain one or more spherical cavities optionally having different sizes and positions.

Use of a cylindrical test body

The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for the testing or inspection of objects, particularly for detecting defects or irregularities therein, by means of X-radiation, where the object to be inspected is brought into different spatial positions and stays there during image detection. For mechanical positioning of the objects, known methods and apparatuses require a relatively long time with limited inspection precision, while having a considerable space requirement. Accompanied by a small size, the invention obviates this problem in that the X-ray components, comprising X-ray tube and X-ray detector, are only moved in translatory manner and the inspection object or part in a gimbal suspension is only moved in rotary manner in at least one axis and a maximum of three axes x, y and z.
