A texturing machine is described comprising a plurality of processing points for texturing a plurality of multifilament threads. The texturing machine comprises a plurality of delivery mechanisms per processing point and a texturing system for guiding, drawing and texturing one of the threads. A central heating device is associated with the processing points for thermal treatment of a plurality of threads, wherein the texturing systems within the processing points downstream of the heating device each delimit a texturing distance. In order to treat all threads qualitatively the same, according to the invention the texturing systems of the processing points associated with a thread outlet of the heating device are held in a symmetrical arrangement with respect to the heating device such that the threads within the processing points can be guided in texturing distances of the same length.

Texturing machine

A yarn withdrawal apparatus for continuously withdrawing a yarn from a feed yarn package and then from a reserve package, where the trailing yarn end on the feed package is knotted to the leading end of the yarn on the reserve package. The transition of the yarn from the feed yarn package to the reserve yarn package is detected by a sensor, which includes a movable yarn guide, which moves during the transition from an inactive position to a signaling position in a first degree of freedom of movement. To prevent the movable yarn guide from rebounding when it reaches the signaling position, the yarn guide or an element connected thereto defines a second degree of freedom of movement which is different from the first degree of freedom of movement, and such that after the rebound the movement is of such a kind that a departure from the signaling position back toward the inactive position is geometrically not possible.

Yarn withdrawal apparatus

A yarn texturing machine for texturing and winding a yarn, wherein the feed system withdraws the yarn from a texturing device and advances it to a takeup device. Between the feed system and the takeup system, a yarn accumulation or free space is provided for the purpose of receiving the yarn that has slackened during a package doff due to an overfeed. To withdraw the yarn reliably from the feed system, a conveying nozzle is positioned between the feed system and the free space, and the conveying nozzle includes at least one nozzle bore that is directed in the direction of the advancing yarn, so that an air stream directed through the bore toward the yarn generates a tension on the yarn in the direction of its advance. Subsequently, the yarn is blown into the free space.

Apparatus for processing and winding a yarn

A method and apparatus for winding a continuously advancing yarn to a package formed on a tubular core, wherein a traversing yarn guide reciprocates the yarn within a traverse stroke and deposits it on the package at an angle of crossing. For its reversal at the ends of the traverse stroke, the traversing yarn guide is decelerated within each reversal range by a finite deceleration from a guiding speed and is again accelerated to the guiding speed by a finite acceleration. The acceleration and deceleration of the traversing yarn guide are controlled in such a manner that the reversal ranges of the traverse strokes become greater in length as the diameter of the package increases.

Method for winding up a thread

A yarn winding method and apparatus which is able to suppress vibrations of the package being formed, and which includes a package support spindle and a contact roll which engages the surface of the package. The support spindle and the contact roll are moveable relative to each other during the build of the package so as to accommodate its increasing size, and the mounting structure for the package support spindle or the contact roll is sequentially gripped and released so that the relative movement occurs discontinuously.

Yarn winding method and apparatus

A cooling apparatus and method for cooling an advancing yarn, which includes an elongate cooling rail along which the advancing yarn is guided. At each end of the cooling rail, the yarn and the cooling rail are reciprocated relative to each other in a direction transverse to the direction of the advancing yarn, so that the yarn sweeps over the cooling surface of the cooling rail, thus facilitating the removal of a possibly developing condensate.

A yarn winding machine having a suction apparatus for withdrawing the severed advancing yarns during the bobbin changing operation. The suction apparatus comprises a tubular duct which extends the length of the winding machine, and the duct mounts a yarn intake tube of relatively small diameter in front of each of the side by side winding stations of the machine. A yarn is adapted to be sucked into and through each of the yarn intake tubes by the relatively high speed air current flowing therethrough, and the yarn then advances into the tubular duct and to a waste container.

Suction apparatus for withdrawing advancing yarns to a waste container

A yarn winding apparatus and thread-up process are disclosed wherein a yarn bobbin is supported between rotatable clamping plates, and wherein at least one of the clamping places has an annular groove which defines a pair of laterally spaced rims. The rim which is adjacent the bobbin includes a yarn drop slot, a yarn catching slot having a forwardly directed nose, and a cutting blade is mounted in the groove behind the yarn catching slot. To effect thread-up, the advancing yarn is guided into the drop slot and thus into the groove, and it is then guided axially toward the bobbin so as to cause it to be looped about the nose of the yarn catching slot. The segment of the yarn remaining in the groove is then severed by the cutting blade.

Yarn winding apparatus and method

An apparatus for cutting an advancing yarn which comprises a cutting blade which is oriented with respect to the advancing yarn, such that when the advancing yarn and blade are moved into engagement, the yarn is deflected from its path of travel to increase its tension, and the yarn moves along the cutting edge of the blade with no substantial component of movement transverse to the cutting edge. The yarn is thus cleanly cut at a single point along its length, in the same manner as a stationary yarn is cut by hand with a knife.

Apparatus for cutting an advancing yarn

A yarn heating apparatus which is adapted for use in a yarn false twisting machine. The heating apparatus includes an elongate heating surface, and a plurality of yarn guide members mounted in a longitudinally spaced-apart arrangement along the length of the heating surface, for guiding an advancing yarn therealong in a laterally zigzagged path of travel which is adjacent but spaced from the heating surface.

Yarn heating apparatus

A yarn threading apparatus is disclosed which is adapted for threading a yarn onto a yarn treatment device, such as the heating and cooling plates of a yarn false twist crimping machine. The threading apparatus comprises an elongate tube having a continuous longitudinal slot extending through the wall thereof, and a plurality of air injection nozzles positioned at longitudinally spaced locations along the length of the tube for forming a helical airstream through the interior of the tube. The yarn may thus be inserted into one end of the tube and entrained in the helical airstream so as to be advanced thereby through the tube and outwardly from the opposite end thereof, and with the helical configuration of the advancing yarn preventing it from withdrawing through the slot. The yarn may thereafter be withdrawn from the tube through the slot and onto the yarn treatment device, by imparting an axial force to the yarn.

Yarn threading apparatus

A method and apparatus for winding a textile yarn into a cross-wound package is disclosed, in which the yarn is wound about the package at a substantially constant rate while the yarn is guided onto the package by a traversing guide. In order to avoid the formation of ribbons on the package, the traversing frequency of the yarn guide is periodically varied by shortening the stroke of the traversing yarn guide while maintaining an unchanged traversing speed of the traversing yarn guide. The avoidance of the formation of ribbons is also accomplished by varying the traversing speed of the traversing yarn guide during the times in which the traversing frequency of the traversing yarn guide is unchanged. Stops are provided for controlling the length of back-and-forth movement of the traversing yarn guide and the stops can be moved inwardly and outwardly to provide the required stroke modification of the traversing guide. Several specific embodiments of the yarn traversing apparatus are disclosed, and wherein the traversing apparatus includes gripper means mounted on a slide which is positioned between parallel runs of a drive belt, and control means for moving the gripper means to alternately engage the two runs of the belt and thus reciprocate the slide.

Method and apparatus for winding yarn

An apparatus for winding a textile yarn into a cross-wound package is disclosed, in which the yarn is wound about the package at a substantially constant rate while the yarn is guided onto the package by a traversing guide. The apparatus includes a yarn guide means which is reciprocated along a linear stroke path, and means are provided for recovering the kinetic energy of the yarn guide means during its reversal of movement at each end of the stroke path. Several specific embodiments of the yarn traversing guide are disclosed, and in one embodiment the traversing guide includes gripper means mounted on a slide which is positioned between parallel runs of a drive belt, and control means for moving the gripper means to alternately engage the two runs of the belt and thus reciprocate the slide.
