A method for controlling a scanning apparatus for scanning a continuously moved object includes seizing the actual momentary position of the moving object, and controlling the time instant or period in which image information is captured by the scanning devices in dependence of the actual momentary position of the object. The scanning apparatus in which the method is used includes a multiplicity of line scanning devices arranged adjacent to each other in the direction of the movement of the moved object. Each of the line scanning devices has a multiplicity of pixels that are arranged adjacent to each other in a direction across a path along which the object is moved. The pixels of the line scanning devices accumulate charges according to the amount of incident light. A controlling means is provided for transferring the charges accumulated in individual pixels to pixels in the adjacent line scanning device in synchronism with direction of the movement and the speed of the moving object. The object is illuminated or transilluminated by a light source.

Method for controlling a TDI-CCD image sensor

A method for focussing a film scanner provides for selecting a plurality of partial regions of the picture to be scanned for the purpose of focus monitoring. During the focussing of one of the selected partial regions, the focussing of the other partial regions is simultaneously monitored. The monitoring is effected for example by simultaneous representation of the partial regions on a monitor screen, and/or by evaluation of the frequency and amplitude conditions of the partial regions. An optimum focal point is set if all the selected partial regions are simultaneously set sharply.

Method for focusing a film scanner and film scanner for carrying out the method

A film exposer has a modulator which modulates light from a light source and projects it onto a light-sensitive film guided continuously past the modulator. The modulator comprises a two-dimensional arrangement of elements which each project a specific quantity of light onto the film. A pixel entering the projection area of the modulator of the film on one side integrates the light which is projected onto the pixel by elements arranged in a row in the transport direction of the film. The quantity of light integrated by the pixel depends on how many elements are switched on, that is to say project light onto the film, while the film passes through the projection area of the modulator. The total quantity of the light to be integrated can be adjusted for each pixel by appropriate control of the elements respectively lying in a row in the transport direction of the film. In one embodiment of the film exposer, the quantity of light projected by individual elements or groups thereof can be adjusted individually or differs by area.

Film exposer and method for exposing light-sensitive films

The transport apparatus has a device for determining the transport speed of a tape-type medium. A linear array sensor is provided, which extends along the transport direction. Furthermore, means are provided in order to image a region of the medium onto the linear array sensor. A signal processing circuit connected to the linear array sensor determines the transport speed of the medium from the output signals of the linear array sensor.

A method for digitizing images stored on film material has, after the image conversion by means of a digitizing device firstly an electronic color value correction independent of user inputs. A user-controllable correction and manipulation of the electronically stored information is subsequently carried out only after the electronic color value correction, which is effected in a manner dependent on properties of the digitizing device and on film material properties. The electronic color value correction depends on parameters which can be adapted to varying properties of the digitizing device. A film scanner adapted to this method has a digitizing device and also a device for controllable correction of the converted image data. A device of discrete construction for electronic color value correction is connected between the digitizing device and the device for controllable correction. An interface for reading in and reading out electronically stored correction data is connected to the device for electronic color value correction.

Method and device for electronically correcting the color value in film scanners

The invention relates to a device for compensating for fluctuations in the light which is emitted by a light source and propogates along a light path. The device has a first light-sensitive sensor. The sensor detects the intensity of the light at a first location along the light path in a spatially resolved manner and generates electrical image signals. Furthermore, a second light-sensitive sensor is provided, which detects the intensity of the light at a second location along the light path and generates electrical output signals.
