A method for controlling ventilation of the transmission includes determining that a predetermined flushing condition is fulfilled and, in response thereto, initiating a flushing action in which at least two of the pneumatic actuators are controlled to discharge compressed air simultaneously or substantially simultaneously to the common ventilation system so as to force air through the at least one ventilation opening.

An interlocking device for a transmission is provided, where the transmission includes a pivotable first shift fork for selectively engaging a first gear and a slidable second shift fork for selectively engaging a second gear. The interlocking device includes a pivot arm pivotable between a first position and a second position, and having a first end and a second end. The first end includes a first interacting portion that interacts with a first locking member of the first shift fork. The second end includes a second interacting portion that interacts with a second locking member of the second shift fork. In the first position, pivoting movement of the first shift fork is prevented and relative sliding movement of the second shift fork is allowed, and in the second position, relative pivoting movement of the first shift fork is allowed and relative sliding movement of the second shift fork may be prevented.

Interlocking device for a transmission

When the control unit monitoring the dual clutch transmission detects input signals from the driver and/or the prime mover and transmission indicating that the free-wheeling mode should be exited, then the transmission is controlled to reconnect the prime mover and the driving wheels. According to the invention, a rapid reconnection of the prime mover to the driven wheels is achieved by engaging the second, normally open clutch unit. Prior to engagement, the control unit can select a suitable gear depending on the input signals from the driver and/or the prime mover. As none of the first set of gears connecting the first input shaft to the driving wheels in the first transmission mechanism is engaged, the first clutch unit can be disengaged during or after engagement of the second clutch unit.

Method for controlling free-wheeling in a dual clutch transmission in a vehicle

A method is provided to control an engine braking operation of a vehicle provided with a dual clutch transmission. The dual clutch transmission is adapted to be set into different gear-combinations, each including an active gear selection through which torque can be transmitted, and a passive gear selection through which no torque can be transmitted. In a pre-set number of gear-combinations, the first input shaft and the main shaft have a synchronised rotation. When an engine braking operation is performed when the transmission is set in one of the pre-set number of gear-combinations modifying said engine braking operation such that a damaging load upon said spigot bearing is reduced.

Method to control an engine braking operation

An interlocking device arranged to prevent forbidden order of engagement/disengagement of two tooth clutches in a vehicle transmission is provided and includes a groove arranged in a first of shift rods, and a second and a third groove arranged in a second of shift rods, an interlocking element arranged coplanar with the shift rods, and directed and movable towards the shift rods. The length of the interlocking element is adapted to allow certain combinations and order of engagement/disengagement of the tooth clutches. A piston element partitions the second and third groove. The piston element is movably arranged in a hole in the second shift rod such that the interlocking element can push the piston element down in the hole, allowing the second shift rod to be displaced only one-way when the first shift rod is in an engaged position.

Interlocking device in a vehicle transmission

An interlocking device arranged to prevent at least one forbidden combination of engaged/disengaged positions of three tooth clutch groups in a vehicle transmission is provided. Each tooth clutch group is arranged to rotationally lock/unlock a shaft from a gearwheel. A shift rod is arranged to push a tooth clutch between engaged/disengaged position. The interlocking device includes movable elements where each movable element is directed towards one of the shift rods in order to lock one of the tooth clutch groups in the disengaged position, and an interlocking element arranged in the middle of the movable elements. A diameter of the interlocking element and lengths of the movable elements are adapted to allow only two of the tooth clutch groups to be engaged simultaneously.

A multi-clutch transmission for a motor vehicle is provided where a central synchronizing unit includes an axially movable synchronizing member that is arranged on and rotationally locked with a countershaft. In actuated states of the central synchronizing unit, the synchronizing member is displaced axially into engagement with mating portions of two gearwheels that are rotatably arranged on the countershaft. The synchronizing member includes an internal and an external cortical friction surface that axially overlap each other, and the mating portions on the two of the gearwheels are mating conical surfaces.

Multi-clutch transmission for a motor vehicle

A transfer box for transferring movements and forces from a gearshift lever of a tiltable vehicle cab portion to a gearbox includes a first frame portion mounted on the cab portion, the first frame portion including at least one first journalled lever portion and being connectable to cable ends or push rods connected to the gear shift lever, a second frame portion mounted on a vehicle chassis, the second frame portion including at least one journalled second lever portion and being connected to the gearbox via cable ends or pushrods, wherein the first lever portions and the second lever portions interact to enable movement/force transfer from the cable ends/push rods connected to the first lever portions to the cable ends/push rods connected to the second lever portions. The at least one first and the at least one second lever portions are provided with wedge shaped cooperating portions.
