The invention relates to a splicer for splicing strips of in rubber material embedded cords to each other, the splicer I comprising a supply device () having an output side (), for supplying the strips in a supply direction, a transport device () in line with the supply device and having an input side () oriented at the output side of the supply device. The transport device () is adapted for transporting the strips. The splicer further comprises a splicing unit for splicing strips to each other along a splice line which splice line intersects the transport device at an angle alpha. The transport device comprises at least two transport means that are substantially parallel on to the other.

Splicer for splicing strips of in rubber material embedded cords to each other

Supply device for supplying rubber material ( ) to a cutting device ( ). In the direction away from the cutting device the supply device contains a supplying table ( ) having a supplying mechanism ( ), an unwinding trestle ( ) containing a stock of rubber material, a space between the unwinding trestle ( ) and the supplying table ( ), which space is suitable for taking up a loop of rubber material forming a stock buffer. Between the unwinding trestle ( ) and the supplying table ( ), preferably at a distance above the supplying table, a first conveyor ( ) having a drive is placed. Preferably at a distance above the unwinding trestle a second conveyor ( ) having a drive is placed, in which the space for taking up the loop of rubber material is formed between the second ( ) and the first ( ) conveyor.

Supply device for supplying rubber material to a cutting device

Splicer ( ) for splicing to each other strips ( ) of cords embedded in rubber material. The device comprises a supply transport device ( ) for supplying strips in a supply direction. A splicing unit ( ) splices strips to each other, and comprises a splicing table ( ) and a splicing machine ( ) placed over the splicing table. The supply transport device supplies strips to the splicing unit. A discharge transport device ( ) discharges strips spliced to each other. A first ( ) and a second ( ) transport unit that are in line with each other are provided. The first transport unit ( ) supplies strips to the second transport unit ( ), in which the second unit supplies strips to the splicing unit and has an inlet end and an outlet end. The outlet end of the second transport unit and the splicing table are laterally, that means transverse to the transport direction, movable with respect to each other. Preferably the splicing machine determines a splice line ( ), in which a target position is formed by the middle of the splice line. A computer is provided having a file in which a target position has been included. A comparer compares a position signal generated by a sensor ( ) and fed into the computer, with the target position and issues a control signal for controlling the relative lateral position of the splicing table and the second transport unit.
