An apparatus for deep-frying food, comprising a vapour discharge channel ( ) communicating with an inner space ( ) and extending from an upper portion of said inner space. A cooling surface ( ), which is cooled in use, is provided for cooling vapours. Condensate that has deposited precipitated on the cooling surface ( ) can be collected in a collecting reservoir ( ), into which the vapour discharge channel ( ) opens. Fat contained in vapour being discharged deposits in a fat deposition area ( ) outside the cooling surface ( ). Since at least a portion of the fat deposition area ( ) communicates with the collecting reservoir ( ) for carrying fat that has deposited in the fat deposition area to the collecting reservoir along a path remote from the cooling surface ( ), and/or since the vapour discharge channel ( ) extends along a straight trajectory, the deposition of fat is made to occur in an area from which it can easily be removed.

Apparatus for deep-frying food comprising a reservoir for collecting vapor being discharged during the deep-frying process

An apparatus for deep-frying food, including a window ( ) of a transparent material which takes up at least a portion of a cover ( ) and which extends at least partially at an angle or vertically. A vapor discharge channel ( ) communicates with the inner space ( ) of the pan. A cooling surface ( ) is provided for cooling vapor, which cooling surface communicates with the inner space ( ) via the vapor discharge channel ( ). A storage reservoir ( ) is used for storing condensate that has precipitated on the cooling surface ( ), and a collecting gutter ( ) serves for collecting condensate that has precipitated on the window ( ). The collecting gutter ( ) extends along a bottom end of the window ( ) and includes a drain ( ), via which drain the collecting gutter ( ) communicates also with the vapor discharge channel ( ) for draining condensate to the vapor discharge channel ( ). Furthermore, a provision for signalling deep-frying activity in response to heating by hot vapor is described.

Apparatus for deep-frying food

A device is provided for heating a liquid in a holder, having a heater element ( ) designed to be placed in said holder and to be immersed in liquid in said holder, a temperature sensor ( ) for measuring the temperature of the liquid in the holder and coupled to a control unit ( ) for the thermostatic control of power supply to the heater element ( ), a thermal safety cut-out ( ) for interrupting the power supply to the heater element in response to heating-up of the heater element to above a given temperature, which safety cut-out ( ) is in thermally conductive contact with the heater element ( ), and a carrier ( ) which is thermally coupled by means of a thermal coupling to a portion of said heater element which is immersed in the liquid in said holder in the operational state, the temperature sensor ( ) of the thermostat being situated on said carrier ( ) at a distance from said thermal coupling.

Device for heating a liquid, and deep-frying vessel with such a device

A grilling appliance has two housing sections provided with heating plates and connected to each other by means of a pivotable/slidable hinge construction at both sides of the appliance. The housing sections can be positioned with respect to each other in several positions in which the heating plates should remain parallel to each other. In order to improve the hinge construction a parallel guiding mechanism has been provided, which mechanism comprises a U-shaped rod (,) having a central portion (,) which can slide in slots (,) of the first housing section (,) and having arms (,) carrying trunnions (,) which are pivotable in the second housing section (,) and slidable in the first housing section (,).

Grilling appliance

A kitchen machine provided with a housing (1) and an attachment (9) with a rotatable tool (17) which can be placed on the housing (1). The tool (17) can be driven by an electric motor (25) which is arranged in the housing (1) and fastened to a frame (39). The frame (39) is fastened to the housing (1) by means of elastically deformable suspension elements (65, 83), which suspension elements (65, 83) are each supported by a support member (69, 85) of the housing (1). The suspension elements (65, 83) have a mechanical stiffness which depends on a surface area of a contact face (73, 93) present between each suspension element (65, 83) and the relevant support member (69, 85). The said surface area and the mechanical stiffness increase with an increase in the mechanical load acting on the frame (39). Since the mechanical stiffness of the suspension element (65, 83) increases with an increase in the mechanical load acting on the frame (39), a good noise insulation of the electric motor (25) is achieved in the case of a low load on the frame (39), while a good protection of the frame (39) and the electric motor (25) against load fluctuations is achieved in the case of a high load.

Kitchen machine with elastic frame suspension

A kitchen machine is provided having a motor housing (5) on which an attachment (25) with a rotatable tool (33) may be placed, so that the tool (33) is removably attached to an end (35) of a drive shaft (43) which is drivable by an electric motor (23) arranged in the motor housing (5). The end (35) of the drive shaft (43) is self-aligning relative to the motor housing (5) by a displacement parallel to an X-direction transverse to the drive shaft (43) and a displacement parallel to a Y-direction transverse to the drive shaft (43) and the X-direction, so that the end (35) of the drive shaft (43) can align itself with the position of the tool (33) when the attachment (25) is placed in position, and friction losses between the end (35) of the drive shaft (43) and the tool (33) are minimal during operation. In a special embodiment of the kitchen machine, the movability of the end (35) of the drive shaft (43) is achieved in that the electric motor (23) with the drive shaft (43) is tiltable relative to the motor housing (5) about a first pivot axis (65) directed parallel to the X-direction and a second pivot axis (85) directed parallel to the Y-direction.
