A method of controlling a set of devices (and) is proposed. The method is performed by a voice-controlled device (). In response to receiving (S) a first voice command of a user comprising a first reference to at least one device of the set of devices and a control command to be performed on the at least one device of the set of devices, the voice-controlled device presents (S) an identifier in association with each of the at least one device of the set of devices. In response to receiving (S) a second voice command from the user comprising a second reference to one or more of the identifiers, the voice-controlled device controls (S) one or more of the at least one device of the set of devices which can be identified based on the second reference comprised in the second voice command to execute the control command comprised in the first voice command.

Controlling a set of devices by a voice-controlled device

A Transmission Reception Point (TRP) of a wireless communication network () operates with a Time Division Duplexing (TDD) configuration for downlink and uplink communications, and a network node () detects a trigger condition for adapting the TDD configuration, with the trigger condition at least including detection of an impairment condition arising from periodic fading on one or more of the radio links between the TRP and User Equipments (UEs). For example, the network node () determines that the impairment condition exists and satisfies one or more additional criteria, and, in response, adapts the TDD configuration of the TRP, to improve the responsiveness of Link Adaptation (LA) by the TRP (). An advantageous recognition underlying responsive adaptation of the TDD configuration is that the TDD configuration of the TRP () influences the LA time constant or convergence time of the LA algorithm used by the TRP ().

Method and apparatus for link adaptation in a wireless communication network via Tdd configuration control

Embodiments described herein relate to methods and apparatuses for adjusting a set of candidate beams that a wireless device is to perform measurements on. A method comprises obtaining an estimated gain value associated with a first narrow beam in the set of candidate beams, wherein the estimated gain value is determined based on a value indicative of first received energy of a first reference signal received by the wireless device on a first wide beam and a value indicative of a second received energy of a second reference signal received by the wireless device on the first narrow beam; comparing the estimated gain value to an expected gain value associated with the first narrow beam; and based on the comparison, determining whether to adjust which beams belonging to the candidate set of beams.

Methods and apparatuses for adjusting a set of candidate beams

A network node () identifies radio beams () that are affected by periodic fading at a User Equipment (UE) () and penalizes the identified beams () with respect to a serving-beam selection procedure that is used to select a serving radio beam () for the UE (). For example, among a set () of radio beams () that are candidates for serving the UE (), the serving-beam selection procedure selects one or more of the candidate beams () according to rankings determined from radio-signal measurements reported by the UE () or from measurements on Sounding Reference Signals (SRS) transmitted by the UE (). In this context, penalizing a beam () means discounting its ranking for purposes of considering it within the beam-selection procedure.

Method and apparatus for beam selection in a wireless communication network

There is provided mechanisms for beam management. A method is performed by a radio transceiver device. The method comprises obtaining an angle spread value for signal paths towards a second radio transceiver device. The method comprises performing a beam management procedure for selecting which directional beam to use for communication with the second radio transceiver device by transmitting or receiving reference signals in a candidate set of directional beams. Which directional beams to include in the candidate set of directional beams is dependent on the angle spread value by the angle spread value determining sparsity of the directional beams in the candidate set of directional beams.

A method for beam assignment support comprises obtaining of, in a radio base station, a set of channel gain estimations representing potential transmissions in a set of beams to a user equipment. A set of bias values is obtained, representing connection quality predictions for a respective beam of the set of beams for transmission to the user equipment. The connection quality predictions are estimations calculated from measures of previous traffic load, previous radio quality of transmissions, and/or previous beam assignments of the first transmission reception point. A set of biased channel gain estimations is determined by weighting the channel gain estimations in dependence of respective bias values. A beam assignment based on the biased channel gain estimations is initiated. A method also for determining bias values in a network node as well as radio base stations.

Method and arrangement for beam assignment support

A user terminal emulation server maintains a database identifying network addresses, UI capabilities, and communication protocols of I/O user devices. Communication sessions are established between a user terminal emulation application and a network entity and I/O user devices proximately located to a user and provide a combined I/O user interface. Delay profiles are determined between the application and the I/O user devices. A downlink flow from the network entity is split into a plurality of downlink flow components assigned to the I/O user devices. For each of the downlink flow components, the server formats the component for transmission to the assigned I/O user device, initiates transmission of the formatted downlink flow component to the assigned I/O user device, and controls timing for when the formatted downlink flow component is transmitted to the assigned I/O user device based on the delay profile associated with the assigned I/O user device.

Methods and nodes for managing position information associated with a group of wireless devices

A network node and a method performed thereby for communicating with a wireless device are provided. The network node is operable in a first communication network, and provides a PCell in a licensed frequency band and a SCell in an unlicensed frequency band. The method comprises determining that a channel quality for the SCell does not meet a predetermined threshold; and when the channel quality for the SCell not meeting the predetermined threshold is due to interference from devices and/or nodes not belonging to the first communication network, triggering a channel switch of the SCell.

A method performed by a radio node for increasing a throughput of a MIMO channel. The radio node operates in a wireless communication network. The beams are beamformed at a transmitter of the radio node. The beams comprise: A first beam comprising a first beam gain in a first direction, and at least one second beam wherein each at least one second beam comprises a respective second beam gain in a respective second direction. When decided that the signal strength on the first beam is a first threshold stronger than the signal strength on each respective at least one second beam, and the signal strength on the at least one second beam is above a second threshold, the radio node increasing the throughput of the MIMO channel by suppressing () the first beam with respect to its beam gain.

Radio node and methods in a wireless communications network

A network node and a method performed by the network node for performing a transmission to one or more wireless devices are provided. The network node is operable in a first communication network, supports carrier aggregation, and provides a PCell in a licensed frequency band and a SCell in an unlicensed frequency band. The method comprises determining to employ splinted Link Adaptation (LA) for a downlink transmission on the SCell; and employing a first Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) on one or more first subframes of a transmission burst to be transmitted to the one or more wireless device and at least a second MCS on one or more subsequent subframes of the transmission burst to be transmitted to the wireless device.

A method performed by a first communication device operating in a wireless communications network is described herein. The first communication device receives, via an interface of the first communication device, a first indication from a user of the first communication device. The first indication explicitly indicates a desired location to receive a wireless service. The first communication device provides, based on the received first indication, a second indication to a second communication device operating in the wireless communications network. The second indication indicates that a space corresponding to the indicated desired location, is a desired space to receive the wireless service from the wireless communications network. There is provided a method and corresponding devices for enabling power adjustment of a radio head of an indoor radio system. Basically, the method comprises identifying (S), based on signal strength measurements in relation to wireless communication 5 devices connected to the radio head, presence of a wall of a building in which the indoor radio system is located, and triggering (S) an adjustment of transmit power of the radio head to align the radio head coverage with the wall.

A method performed by a network node () for finding a direction to a wireless device () in a wireless communication network is provided. The method comprises the step (S) of the network node transmitting reference signal pairs on at least one pair of correlated antennas. Each reference signal pair has a unique phase difference between the signals in the signal pair, and the unique phase differences of the reference signal pairs are distributed over a given angular interval. The method further comprises the step (S) of the network node receiving from the wireless device, in response to each pair of reference signals, a respective indication of a preferred pre-coding matrix, and the step (S) of the network node determining a direction to the wireless device based on the received indications, information representative of the phase differences of the reference signal pairs, and phase information related to the indicated preferred pre-coding matrices.
