A fluid transfer assembly, drug container, and method for enabling fluid transfer in an infusion system is taught. The assembly includes a fluid container containing an infusion fluid, and a drug container. The fluid container has at least one inlet port for receiving a medical substance from the drug container. The assembly further includes at least one fluid barrier controlling fluid passage between the drug container and the fluid container. The inlet port exhibits a first luer-lock connector, and the drug a container is sealed by a cap exhibiting a second luer-lock connector for attachment to the first luer-lock connector. The fluid barrier is designed and arranged to be ruptured by an external force to allow the fluid passage.

Method and assembly for fluid transfer and drug containment in an infusion system

A fluid transfer assembly, drug container, and method for enabling fluid transfer in an infusion system is taught. The assembly includes a fluid container containing an infusion fluid, and a drug container. The fluid container has at least one inlet port for receiving a medical substance from the drug container. The assembly further includes at least one fluid barrier controlling fluid passage between the drug container and the fluid container. The inlet port exhibits a first luer-lock connector, and the drug container is sealed by a cap exhibiting a second luer-lock connector for attachment to the first luer-lock connector. The fluid barrier is designed and arranged to be ruptured by an external force to allow the fluid passage.

Needle for penetrating a membrane

A fluid transfer device for use in an infusion system having a first end and a second end for coupling to an injection port of the infusion system. The device further includes at least a first member, a hollow needle attached to the first member, and a second member telescopically displaceable in relation to the first member, allowing the hollow needle to penetrate a flexible barrier member sealing the injection port thereby creating a fluid passage into the infusion system. The first end has a connecting portion for attachment to a drug bottle containing a fixed dose of a medical substance, and the second end has a flexible membrane able to be pressed against the flexible barrier member with a pressure sufficient to create a double-membrane sealing around the hollow needle.

Method and device for fluid transfer in an infusion system

A device and method for mixing medical fluids is disclosed. The device has an inlet port, an injection port, an outlet port, a first duct between the injection port and the inlet port, and a second duct between the inlet port and the outlet port. The injection port is sealed by a fluid-proof membrane which can be penetrated by an injection needle. The device further includes at least a first portion made of a first material and a second portion made of a second, substantially more resilient material, wherein the inlet port and the injection port are included in the first portion and the outlet port is included in the second portion, and the first and second portions are attached to each other by means of a combined friction coupling and snap connection.

Device and method for mixing medical fluids

A first aspect of the invention relates to a method for aseptic preparation with an injection syringe. The syringe comprises a container for injection agent and an immovable connection nozzle connected to the container. The method entails charging the container with air. According to the invention air is forced to pass through an air filter arranged on the connection nozzle. This enables the syringe container to be charged with aseptic air in a simple and reliable fashion. Other aspects of the invention relate to devices for performing the method, viz. an injection syringe equipped with an air filter in the connection nozzle, a filter unit () connectable to an injection syringe's () connection nozzle () and a system comprising an injection syringe () and a separate filter unit (). The invention devices convey advantages of the same kind as the invention method.

Method and arrangements in aseptic preparation

A coupling device for coupling a vial connector to a drug vial, comprising actuating means ( &prime;), for bringing the drug vial and/or the vial connector ( &prime;) into a third position in which a cannula ( &prime;) penetrates a seal ( &prime;) of the drug vial in a direction along an axis (A) substantially perpendicular (&agr;&ap;90&deg;) to a main plane (P) of the seal ( &prime;), and guiding means ( ) controlling the direction. The actuating means ( &prime;) are designed for applying a force on the drug vial and/or the vial connector ( &prime;) enabling the locking means ( &prime;) to become permanently locked around the neck ( &prime;). The first positioning means ( &prime;) are adjustable for holding drug vials ( &prime;) of several different dimensions and/or the second positioning means ( &prime;) are adjustable for holding vial connectors ( &prime;) of several different dimensions. The coupling device allows the positioning means to release the vial and the vial connector, and can be utilised in connection with aseptic preparation and handling of drugs.
