A light source device includes at least one semiconductor laser and a laser-excited light source. The laser-excited light source has a phosphor excited by the semiconductor laser(s), and an optical system for extracting fluorescence emitted from the phosphor. The light source device also includes a plurality of LED light sources for emitting light having wavelengths different from a wavelength of the fluorescence. The light source device also includes a composite optical system for synthesizing the fluorescence from the laser-excited light source with the light from the LED light sources, and emitting the synthesized light from a light emitting portion. The LED light sources include an LED light source configured to emit light in an ultraviolet range. The LED light source configured to emit the light in the ultraviolet range is disposed at a position farther from the laser-excited light source than the remaining LED light source(s).

Light source device including laser-excited light source

The fluorescent light source device according to this invention includes: a light-emitting device emitting blue excitation light; a wavelength conversion device excited by the excitation light and producing yellow fluorescence; and a first dichroic mirror including a region that reflects or transmits the excitation light and a region that transmits or reflects the fluorescence and partial excitation light that was not converted by the wavelength conversion device. The fluorescent light source device mixes fluorescence and partial excitation light from the wavelength conversion device together and emits white light, and further includes an auxiliary light source emitting light in a blue region identical to that of the excitation light. Radiation light from the auxiliary light source is mixed with white light that is a mixture of the fluorescence and the partial excitation light from the first dichroic mirror.

Fluorescent light source device

The present invention has as its object the provision of a fluorescent light source device capable of stably obtaining high luminous efficiency and a production process of the same. The fluorescent light source device of the present invention includes a fluorescent plate which has a fluorescent light-emitting layer formed of a polycrystalline material and in which a periodic structure body is formed on an excitation light incident side of the fluorescent light-emitting layer. The fluorescent plate has a thermal diffusion layer which is directly bonded to a front surface of the fluorescent light-emitting layer on the excitation light incident side and has a thermal conductivity larger than that of the fluorescent light-emitting layer, and a high thermal conductive layer provided on a back surface of the fluorescent light-emitting layer opposite to the excitation light incident side. The high thermal conductive layer is formed of a light reflection layer and a bonding layer made of a metal, and the fluorescent plate is provided so as to cover a part of a surface of a heat dissipation substrate disposed on a side of the high thermal conductive layer side.

Fluorescent light source device and production process of same

Disclosed are a fluorescence microscope light source apparatus and a fluorescence microscope capable of obtaining high-luminance light in a wavelength of 500 to 550 nm and having reduced background noise when a sample is observed. The fluorescence microscope light source apparatus to be installed in a fluorescence microscope including an illumination light bandpass filter includes: a laser diode that emits blue light as excitation light; a phosphor that converts the excitation light from the laser diode into illumination fluorescence with a wavelength region of 500 to 550 nm; an optical system that extracts the illumination fluorescence from the phosphor; a first condenser lens that condenses the excitation light onto the phosphor; a light guide body having one end face on which the illumination fluorescence is incident and the other end face from which the illumination fluorescence exits; and a second condenser lens that condenses the illumination fluorescence onto the one end face of the light guide body. A band-elimination filter that blocks or attenuates light, out of the illumination fluorescence, in a wavelength region including a transmission maximum wavelength and including no transmission minimum wavelength in the illumination light bandpass filter is provided on a light path of the illumination fluorescence.

Fluorescence microscope light source apparatus and fluorescence microscope

Provided is a fluorescence-emitting light source unit that includes a wavelength conversion member having a light receiving surface and a phosphor. The light receiving surface is configured to receive excitation light, and the phosphor is configured to convert the excitation light received by the light receiving surface into fluorescence and emit the fluorescence. The light receiving surface includes a cyclic structure having projections, in which the projections are cyclically arrayed and each have a substantially cone shape. An aspect ratio is about 0.2 or greater, in which the aspect ratio is a ratio of a height of any of the projections to a pitch of the array of the projections. The pitch of the array is of a size that falls within a range in which diffraction of the fluorescence emitted from the phosphor occurs.

Fluorescence-emitting light source unit

In a light source device, in each division of an image frame, two or more of the color lights X, Y and Z (e.g., red, green and blue) can be projected simultaneously. Each of the color lights X, Y and Z is divided into two in terms of time so that synthesized light of one group of division color lights enters a first spatial modulation element. Synthesized light of another group of division color lights enters a second spatial modulation element, whereby gradation of each color light in each of the first and second spatial modulation elements is controlled.

Light source device

A illuminating device used for an document reading apparatus that has two rod shape light guides and light emitting elements where each of the light guides has a light emitting face and two flat light reflection faces, which may have a group of minute prisms that are formed along the longitudinal direction of the faces, and where light from each light emitting element is guided in the longitudinal direction by the light guide and reflected by that faces, such that the light is emitted from the light emitting face of each light guide and a virtual plane that is vertical to a longitudinal direction of each of the two light guides has two light intensity peaks.

Illuminating device

In a light source device, that obtains high light usage efficiency by projecting simultaneously two or more of three primary color lights X, Y and Z. Moreover, each color light X, Y and Z is divided into two in terms of time so that p-wave and s-wave linear polarization lights are formed, such that the synthesized light of the p-wave linear polarization lights enters a first spatial modulation element and the synthesized light of the s-wave linear polarization lights enters a second spatial modulation element to permit gradation control of each color light.

A light source apparatus includes first and second light direction changing faces that extend in a longitudinal direction, a light guiding member having first and second light emitting faces that are formed to respectively face the first and second light direction changing faces and a light source that is arranged on one end face of the light guiding member. A first vertical plane extending in a longitudinal direction with respect to the first light direction changing face and a second vertical plane extending in a longitudinal direction with respect to the second light direction changing face intersect. A groove which extends in a longitudinal direction of the light guiding member is formed between the first and second light direction changing faces. A surface forming the groove may be parabolic in a cross section.

Bifurcated linear light source apparatus

An exposure device for producing semiconductors and liquid crystals has an optical system capable of effectively using light generated without making a hole in a lamp discharge vessel when high energy laser light is supplied to it for emitting light, such as ultraviolet light. The exposure device has a light source for emitting ultraviolet light, a laser device for emitting laser light, an elliptical reflector for reflecting ultraviolet light emitted from the light source, and an optical system for directing light reflected by the elliptical reflector to an article to be treated via optical elements including a collimator lens and an integrator lens, and a beam splitter having a wavelength selecting ability provided in the optical path for light reflected by the elliptical reflector to allow laser light to be incident on the light source from and opening side of the elliptical reflector.

Exposure device

A light guiding member in a shape of a rod shape comprises a light receiving portion formed on an end thereof in an axial direction thereof, and a knurled recess portion which extends in the axial direction, is formed on a side face thereof, wherein the knurled recess portion has two or more recesses, a side face of each recess in a light receiving portion side is a reflective surface, the reflective surface of at least one of the recesses having a primary reflective surface and a secondary reflective surface.

Light guiding member and linear light source apparatus

A light guiding member having a light direction changing face which extends in a longitudinal direction of the light guiding member and a light emitting face which faces the light guiding member, wherein the light direction changing face includes two faces arranged so that vertical faces which extend in the longitudinal direction and are respectively vertical to the two faces, intersect with each other. Also, a bifurcated linear light source apparatus comprises a LED, a light guiding member which is made up of a transparent rod shape member, and which emits light generated by the LED, in two directions, from a longitudinal direction side face of the transparent rod shape member, and a reflection mirror which reflects the light emitted in one of the two directions, to the other direction of the two directions.

Light guiding member and bifurcated linear light source apparatus

An LED light source device using light from luminescent elements at a high level of uniformity and efficiency, and to conduct irradiation with a high level of design freedom an LED light source device is equipped with luminescent elements and a translucent light-guiding member. The translucent light-guiding member has a central convex lens with a first cylindrical light-guiding part formed on the outer periphery of the central convex lens and a second cylindrical light-guiding part formed on the outer periphery of the first cylindrical light-guiding part, such that an air layer is formed between the outer peripheral surface of the first cylindrical light-guiding part and the inner peripheral surface of the second cylindrical light-guiding part, the outer peripheral surface of the first cylindrical light-guiding part and the outer peripheral surface of the second cylindrical light-guiding part being rotated quadratic surfaces with the same focal point.

LED light source device

In an EUV focusing mirror in which there are several thin concave nested high precision mirrors in the form of an ellipsoid of revolution, a paraboloid of revolution, a Wolter type or the like, the sides which do not constitute the reflection surfaces are made in the shape of a knife edge at the radiation incident ends of the respective mirrors in order not to be shielded by the thickness of the radiation incidence sides of the respective mirrors. Likewise, the radiation exit ends of the respective mirrors are made in the form of a knife edge. This yields an advantageous far-field distribution use of the mirrors for an EUV radiation source device and the degree of reduction of the light intensity can be made smaller than in the conventional case.

Extreme UV radiation focusing mirror and extreme UV radiation source device

A light source device including a short arc discharge lamp having a pair of opposed electrodes within a light emitting bulb of a discharge container, and a concave reflector having an optical axis arranged to coincide with a direction of an arc produced by the electrodes when the discharge lamp is activated. The electrodes are spaced from each other at a distance of 4.0 mm or less and the light emitting bulb has an inner surface and an outer surface which, at least in a specific portion, have substantially spherical surfaces with a center of curvature which is at a center of the arc. The specific portion is located in front of a critical line that passes through the light emitting bulb, the specific portion being an angle having an apex at the center of the arc. The concave reflector has an optical axis that is at least 3 sr in front of a plane which passes through the center of the arc and perpendicular to the optical axis of the concave reflector.
