When a first mode is set in an endoscope apparatus, a light source control unit causes a light source to be turned on during a period including all or a part of a period during which available storage periods of pixels in all simultaneous exposure lines. An imaging device generates a first image. When a second mode is set, the light source control unit causes the light source to be turned on during a period including all of the available storage period of the pixels in each of a plurality of rows. The imaging device generates a second image. The rolling distortion determination unit determines a situation of occurrence of rolling distortion using the first image and the second image.

In an imaging apparatus, two pupils of a pupil division optical system transmits light of a first wavelength band and light of a second wavelength band. An amount of components of the first wavelength band in first transmittance characteristics and second transmittance characteristics is more than an amount of components of the second wavelength band in the first transmittance characteristics and the second transmittance characteristics. An amount of components of the second wavelength band in third transmittance characteristics is more than an amount of components of the first wavelength band in the third transmittance characteristics. A processor is configured to generate a color image including a first signal that is based on the first transmittance characteristics as a first channel and a second signal that is based on the second transmittance characteristics as a second channel and a third channel.

In an endoscope device, an imaging device sequentially reads pixel signals from at least some of a plurality of pixels row by row during a first period. A control unit causes a light source to generate illumination light during a second period. The second period is at least a part of a period other than the first period. The control unit causes the light source to stop the generation of the illumination light during a third period. The third period is all of a period other than the second period. The control unit causes a switching unit to start switching of an imaging condition during the third period and complete the switching of the imaging condition during the third period.

In a measurement apparatus, a first pupil is capable of transmitting first light of a first wavelength band, and a second pupil is capable of transmitting second light of a second wavelength band. An imaging device includes a plurality of first pixels generating first pixel signals based on third light of a third wavelength band transmitted through a first optical filter that is capable of transmitting the third light. The imaging device further includes a plurality of second pixels generating second pixel signals based on fourth light of a fourth wavelength band transmitted through a second optical filter that is capable of transmitting the fourth light. A light source outputs illumination light including only fifth light of a fifth wavelength band and sixth light of a sixth wavelength band not overlapping the fifth wavelength band.

In a measuring device, a second objective optical system is arranged to have a parallax with respect to a first objective optical system. An imaging unit captures a first subject image formed through the first objective optical system at a first imaging timing and captures a second subject image formed through the second objective optical system at a second imaging timing different from the first imaging timing. In a measurement device, an imaging unit generates a first image and a second image. A subject distance detection unit detects a subject distance. A motion detection unit detects an amount of motion of the imaging unit. A measurement availability determination unit determines whether or not measurement is executable by comparing the amount of motion with an allowable threshold value according to the subject distance. A measurement processing unit executes a measurement process on the basis of the first image and the second image when the measurement availability determination unit determines that the measurement is executable.

A region-setting unit sets, in an image, a region based on one reference point designated by a user in the image or a predetermined region as an extraction region. An edge extraction unit extracts an edge of the subject based on an image of the extraction region. When a plurality of edges are extracted, a display control unit causes a line indicating the plurality of extracted edges to be displayed on a display unit together with the image. An edge selection unit selects a reference edge from among the plurality of extracted edges based on an instruction from the user.
