A radiation detector is constituted by: a recording photoconductive layer; and electrodes provided on both sides of the photoconductive layer. Electric charges, which are generated within the recording photoconductive layer when radiation is irradiated thereon while a predetermined biasing voltage is being applied between the electrodes, are read out as electric signals. The recording photoconductive layer is formed by amorphous selenium that contains alkali metal elements within a range from 0.0007 atomic ppm to 0.0035 atomic ppm.

Radiation detector

A solid state radiation sensor, in which an electrode is disposed on each side of a recording photoconductive layer, and charges generated in the recording photoconductive layer by the irradiation of radiation, with a predetermined bias voltage being applied between the electrodes, are detected as electrical signals. Here, a predetermined region is provided between the electrodes, and the average density of an alkali metal in the predetermined region is greater than or equal to 10 times the average density of the alkali metal in the area between the electrodes other than the predetermined region.

Method for manufacturing photoconductive layers that constitute radiation imaging panels

A photo-conductor layer for constituting a radiation imaging panel, which photo-conductor layer is capable of recording radiation image information as an electrostatic latent image, is produced. The photo-conductor layer contains a BiMOsintered material, in which M represents at least one kind of element selected from the group consisting of Ge, Si, and Ti. Sintering processing for the formation of the BiMOsintered material is performed in an inert gas, atmosphere. Alternatively, the sintering processing is performed at a sintering temperature falling within the range of 800&#xb0; C. to 900&#xb0; C. and in an atmosphere, in which an oxygen partial pressure P(Pa) satisfies the condition 10&#x2266;P&#x2266;10.

Process for producing photo-conductor layers for constituting radiation imaging panels

A photoconductive layer formed of a BiMOsintered body is manufactured without being fused with a setter. An oxide material in which a content of silicon oxide is 1 wt %, and more preferably, 0.3 wt % or less, is used as a setter which mounts a BiMOmolded body (where M is at least one of Ge, Si and Ti) thereon.

A photo-conductive layer for constituting a radiation imaging panel, which photo-conductive layer is capable of recording radiation image information as an electrostatic latent image, contains BiMO, in which M represents at least one kind of element selected from the group consisting of Ge, Si, and Ti. The photo-conductive layer may be formed with a coating technique or as a sintered film. There is disclosed a silver halide photographic light-sensitive material which contains, on a support, a specific nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound, and a divalent metal cation that is an acid with intermediate hardness/softness classified in accordance with the HSAB principle, in an amount 1 to 300 times the number of moles of the nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound. Silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material and a method
