A front end module structure of a vehicle comprises a front end panel mounted on front side members of the vehicle, the front end panel including a metal-made upper reinforcement extending in the widthwise direction of the vehicle and having a horizontally thrown U-shaped, or closed, sectional configuration and a resin-made main body formed integrally with the upper reinforcement and so formed on the upper reinforcement that a part thereof may intrude into the sectional configuration thereof, the resin-made main body having formed therein at least a retaining portion, by which a radiator is retained, and an upper reinforcement portion fixed to front fender reinforcements of the vehicle. As a result of this, there is enhanced the rigidity of the upper reinforcement portion of the front end panel.

Front end module structure of vehicle

A compact-size variable resistance device has a terminal for electrical connection to an external device, a resistor that slidingly contacts with a brush, and connecting parts formed of an electro-conductive resin containing a thermoplastic resin. The electro-conductive resin connecting parts readily make reliable electrical interconnection of the terminal and the resistor when the connecting parts are joined by, for example, ultrasonic bonding.

Variable resistance device

A resinous cylinder comprises a cylindrical portion with an open end and a closed end, and is formed by flowing raw material of resin from the center of the closed end. A first attaching portion is disposed at the side of the open end of the cylindrical portion and has a hole for securing to a vehicle body. A flange portion has a second attaching portion disposed at the side of the closed end. The second attaching portion has a hole for securing the resinous cylinder to the vehicle body. A resin flowing portion is formed between the second attaching portion and the closed end of the cylindrical portion. A connecting portion connects the first attaching portion and the second attaching portion through a clearance with the cylindrical portion. A volume of the flange portion is reduced so that a resin flowing speed of the flange portion is faster than a resin flowing speed of the cylindrical portion. The first attaching portion, the flange portion and the connecting portion are integrally formed with the cylindrical portion.

Resinous cylinder

There is disclosed a polyamide resin composition containing: (A) 85 to 95 parts by weight of a polyamide resin; (B) 5 to 15 parts by weight of wollastonite; (C) 3 to 10 parts by weight, to 100 parts by the total weight of ingredients (A) and (B), of a styrene copolymer modified with at least one modifier selected from the group consisting of unsaturated carboxylic acids and unsaturated dicarboxylic anhydrides; and (D) 0.5 to 5 parts by weight, to 100 parts by the total weight of ingredients (A) and (B), of a high-density polyethylene modified with at least one modifier selected from the group consisting of unsaturated carboxylic acids and unsaturated dicarboxylic anhydrides, the high-density polyethylene having a weight-average molecular weight of 50,000 to 400,000.

A light weight molding compound comprises an inner layer constituted by a thermosetting resin including a hollow filler, cloth layers constituted by woven or non-woven fabric adhered on the both surfaces of the inner layer, and surface layers constituted by a thermosetting resin including reinforcing fiber and integrally connected to the both surfaces of the inner layer by way of the cloth layers. The light weight sheet molding compound has superior surface quality to be painted after molding.

A fiber-reinforced plastic product comprises a first member which is formed by pressing from a sheet molding compound made of an unsaturated polyester resin and having a first portion which should be reinforced and a second portion having an area adjacent to the first portion, a second member made of a uni directional sheet molding compound made of the unsaturated polyester resin, including a bundle of glass fibers which is continuously formed so as to be arranged in the same direction, and overlayed on the first portion by the press formation, and a concave portion formed in the area. Thereby, the second member is prevented from expanding along the first member during the press formation.

Fiber-reinforced plastic product

A weather strip for a door belt-molding disposed for sliding contact with a window glass to prevent water leakage between the door belt-molding and the window glass, comprising a root portion of which at least one portion is made of a material having a high coefficient of elasticity and resistance to permanent strain. The preferred materials are ethylene propylene rubber or a thermoplastic elastomer resin.

Vibration wave motor

A method of sealing electric and electonic parts, comprising employing two different ultraviolet-curing resins for upper and lower layer portions, respectively, the resin employed for the upper layer portion having a smaller specific gravity than that of the resin for the lower layer portion before the resins are cured, and simultaneously curing the resins by irradiation with an ultraviolet ray. The ultraviolet-curing resin employed for the upper layer portion is an epoxy acrylate or epoxy resin, while an urethane acrylate ultraviolet-curing resin is employed for the lower layer portion, and the thickness of the ultraviolet-curing resin employed for the upper layer portion is set at from 0.5 mm to 3 mm.

Method of sealing electric and electronic parts

An article, obtained by injection molding, includes a first member on which an electrical element such as a coil is provided or mounted and a second member, surrounding the first member, formed integrally therewith. A first radially inward projection of the second member is in abutment with a first annular flange of the first member. A second radially inward projection of the second member is fitted in and welded to a vee on the first annular flange. Such weld acts as a seal for water-proofing the electric element. For preventing separation of weld due to repetition of radial expansion of electrical element upon current application thereto, a connecting means is provided between the first radially inward projection and the first annular flange.
