An image processing section reads out moving picture data from a memory section in accordance with an instruction from a control section, and subjects the moving picture data to a predetermined data process and converts it to image data and voice data. Based on the image data, a driver drives a display section for display control. The control section controls respective parts of a mobile radio terminal. Even while a moving picture is being reproduced, if call reception occurs, the control section temporarily suspends the reproduction of the moving picture and indicates the occurrence of call reception. If the call ends, the control section resumes the reproduction of the moving picture.

A folding detecting unit detects whether or not the corresponding mobile radio terminal is in the folded state. A storage unit stores phone numbers of mobile terminals and automatic response data in the form of a table. A communication control unit refers to information stored in the storage unit when an incoming call occurs and, when the folding detecting unit detects that the terminal is changed from the folded or closed state to the unfolded or opened state, responds to the incoming call to initiate communication according to the automatic response data for the originating terminal.

A mobile communication terminal is provided with a light-emitting element for notifying an unanswered incoming call. When the cancellation of an incoming call is canceled in a state where an incoming call response operation has not been carried out, the mobile communication terminal is brought into the standby state and then the light-emitting element is caused to emit light.

A radio tele-communication apparatus of this invention is arranged as follows. A receiving circuit receives a signal including transmission information transmitted from a base station and outputs a demodulated signal. A determining circuit determines whether or not self-addressed transmission information is included in the demodulated signal output from the receiving circuit. If the determining circuit determines that the self-addressed transmission information is included in the demodulated signal, a detecting circuit compares the currently received transmission information with previously received transmission information to detect a change amount therebetween. If the change amount is larger than a predetermined amount, an informing circuit informs reception of the self-addressed transmission information. The informing circuit also contains various informing states which can be adjustably set by the user.

A paging apparatus with a time information generating circuit comprises a combination switch having multiple switch positions in different operation directions, so that a time setting mode is set when a predetermined first operation is performed by the combination switch, and a paging mode is set other operations are performed. When a predetermined second operation is performed with the time setting mode set, time information measured by the time information generating circuit is replaced with time information input by the second operation. Even in the time setting mode, it is checked if a call is made to the apparatus. When there is such a call, a user is informed of this event without ignoring the occurrence of the call.

A tele-communication device includes a memory for storing a plurality of pieces of messages transmitted over a communication channel and a display device for displaying the message information read from the memory in response to an operation of a display switch. When the display time of a message exceeds a given time, the message is automatically erased from the display. When the display switch is depressed within a given time from when the message is erased automatically, the erased message is displayed again.

A method and apparatus of this invention changes a frequency at which a control circuit (signal processing circuit) operates in accordance with an operational load of a circuit. More specifically, a pager comprises a signal processing circuit for detecting a first signal sequence within received signals by comparing the received signals with codes originated in the pager and for identifying a second signal sequence received in association with the first signal sequence within the received signals, the signal processing circuit being supplied with a first clock signal having a first frequency when the signal processing circuit detects the first signal sequence and being supplied with a second clock signal having a second frequency when the signal processing circuit identifies the second signal sequence. Still, the frequency applied to the signal processing circuit may be changed in accordance with the operational load of the circuit.

A paging apparatus comprises a control device for controlling all other components of the apparatus. The control device can have a memory for storing the ID number of the paging apparatus. There is shown methods and devices for storing the ID number in the memory or an ID memory device. These methods can be classified into two types. One type is write, into the memory of the control device or into the ID memory device, the ID number which the apparatus detects after a specific code and which has been broadcast from a base station, along with the specific code. The other type is to write the ID number into the memory of the control device or into the ID memory device when the input terminal provided the paging apparatus is connected to an external ID number writer. In either type of method, the paging apparatus generates an alarm upon completion of writing the ID number into the memory of the control device or into the ID memory device, thereby informing the user of this fact.

A paging apparatus having a message display function in which one or more of the messages stored in a message memory may be erased in response to the operation of a test switch in the factory during manufacturing. The paging apparatus is of a type that does not include a power switch. Rather, power is supplied immediately upon connection of a battery. Accordingly, a test switch which is inaccessible to the normal user is provided to switch the operation of the paging apparatus from a normal mode to a test mode or vice versa.
