First to third openings are formed stepwise in a rotor side wall portion of a flow control valve disposed in a hot water circuit. Third positions (a) and (b) are established between a first position in which a first communication passage for communication between inlet and outlet pipes of the flow control valve is fully closed and a second position in which the first communication passage is fully opened. A duty control is performed so that the rotor reciprocates repeatedly among the above four positions. In this way, in the flow control valve for controlling the amount of the fluid flowing in the fluid passage, the valve colliding noise, the water hammer noise, and the temperature variation in the heating heat exchanger can be reduced.

Flow control device

A compressor is prevented from the problem of seizure at start-up even when return of lubricant to the compressor is delayed. In such a refrigerant cycle, a bypass passage bypasses an expansion member and an evaporator. The bypass passage opens for a predetermined time when the compressor starts. The predetermined time is dependent upon external temperature, the compressor speed, compressor capacity, etc.

Automotive air conditioner

An electromagnetic clutch is disposed between a drive source and a driven device for connecting and disconnecting the drive source to and from the driven device, respectively. The electromagnetic clutch includes a body rotatable by the rotative power from the drive source and an armature faced to, but normally spaced from the rotatable body. An exciting solenoid when energized moves the armature into an engaging position where the armature is attracted and urges against an end face of the rotatable body. A bearing is disposed between a fixed member of the driven device and the inner peripheral surface of the rotatable body for rotatably supporting the rotatable body on the fixed member. A cylindrical cover member is fixedly mounted, independently of the bearing, on a portion of the inner peripheral surface of the rotatable body between an axial end face thereof and the bearing. The cover member includes a peripheral wall covering a gap between the rotatable body and the armature and an annular end wall extending radially inwardly from an axial end of the peripheral wall by a considerable distance and cooperating with the peripheral wall to define a reservoir for oil and grease.

Temperature sensing device which has a temperature sensing part including a microchip thermistor in the form not greater than a very small thin piece having a volume of 2 mm.sup.3 as a temperature sensing element. The temperature sensing part is connected to an external circuit to which a temperature sense signal is to be transmitted, by lead wires, and the microchip thermistor is connected to the lead wires through fine lead wires having a wire diameter not greater than 0.5 mm.

Temperature sensing device

An electromagnetic coupling apparatus for interrupting power transmission is disclosed in which a terminal of a magnet coil for attracting an armature to a rotary body is connected with an electrical terminal of an electric connector directly outside of a fixing member without using a lead wire or the like therebetween. A stopper is secured in direct contact or with a small gap to a recess formed at part of the fixing member, thus preventing the rotation of the yoke including the magnet coil.

In an electric control method for an automobile air conditioner, a digital computer is utilized to calculate a function required to direct the actual in-car temperature toward a desired value in consideration with various changes of ambient temperature and the calculation is compensated to effectively reduce a difference between the actual in-car temperature and the desired value when the rate of change of the actual in-car temperature becomes below a predetermined value.

In an electric control method and apparatus for an automobile air conditioning system, an air-blend door is arranged between an evaporator and a heater within an air duct to control an amount of the cooled air flowing through the heater into a passenger compartment and to control an amount of the cooled air directly flowing into the compartment, and a refrigerant compressor for the evaporator is connected to a prime mover of the automobile when the air-blend door is opened to allow the cooled air flowing through the heater in a limited range and is disconnected from the prime mover when the air-blend door is further opened to allow the cooled air flowing through the heater beyond the limited range.

In a refrigeration cycle of an air conditioning system of the type, in which lubricating oil for lubricating a compressor circulates through the refrigeration cycle together with refrigerant, an evaporation pressure control device is provided between an evaporator and the compressor for not only controlling the amount of refrigerant circulating through the refrigeration cycle in response to the pressure of the refrigerant out of the evaporator, but permitting the refrigerant to return to the compressor when the pressure of the refrigerant out of the evaporator is extremely decreased owing to the leakage of the refrigerant, whereby seizure of the compressor can be prevented.
