There is provided a cooling structure whose performance for cooling ring members and brushes is enhanced. In a cooling structure applied to a slip ring device including ring members provided to an input shaft and brushes contacting with these ring members, the input shaft includes a shaft member where an external spline portion is formed, and a cylindrical member that is installed over the external circumference of the shaft member so that an internal spline portion formed on the cylindrical member is meshed with the external spline portion, and that the ring members are fixed to the cylindrical member. The internal spline portion is formed upon a portion of the inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical member that lies on the radially inward side of the ring members.

A method of fixing a stator core in a cylindrical housing includes the following steps. The first step is a step of blanking a plurality of stator core sheets from an electromagnetic steel sheet by using a die. The die has a circular outside contour for blanking the stator core sheets from the electromagnetic steel sheet and each of the blanked stator core sheets has an outside contour. The second step is a step of forming the stator core by laminating the blanked stator core sheets one on another. The third step is a step of setting a non-fixing position of the stator core to the housing in such an angular position where difference in diametral dimension of the outside contour between the die and the stator core is relatively large.

The method includes forming coil pieces by winding wire with flat cross section into single row lamination state including wire layers aligned along perpendicular line to flat surfaces of wire. The coil is formed for first portion to be inserted in slot and second portion not inserted in slot appear alternately along the coil. The method displaces wire layers at the first portion changing the single row lamination state to connectively laminated state where wire layers at portion to be inserted in slot each adjacent pair of the wire layers partially overlap with respect to direction perpendicular to flat wire surfaces. The method includes inserting wires of first portion into slot, passing each wire layer through slot opening successively from the top wire layer of lamination and displacing each wire layer at first portion from each other.

A stator includes a first through a third windings, and a first and a second interphase insulators. The first interphase insulator has a first pair of strip-shaped insulating sheets and a first connecting portion. End portions of the insulating sheets are connected to the respective opposite end portions to form joints. The first connecting portion connects the insulating sheets so that the joints are shifted so as to be disposed in a region avoiding an interference with the first winding on both of a lead-extending side and the opposite side. In the second interphase insulator similarly constructed, a second connecting portion connects a second pair of the strip-shaped insulating sheets so that joints are shifted so as to be disposed in a region avoiding an interference with the third winding on both of the lead-extending side and the opposite side.

An interphase insulating sheet is used in a stator including a core and a multiphase winding having a plurality of phase windings for insulating the phase windings from one another. The interphase insulating sheet includes a cut portion formed in the interphase insulating sheet. The cut portion indicates a direction opposite to a direction in which the interphase insulating sheet is inserted in the stator.

A rotating electric machine including circumferential portions respectively corresponding to magnetic pole centers of permanent magnets and defined along the outer circumference of the rotor at a plurality of locations, with each circumferential portion extending along part of a virtual circumferential surface, which is coaxial with the rotor. The circumferential portions are spaced from one another in the circumferential direction. Convex portions connect adjacent pairs of the circumferential portions. A plurality of slots are provided at a stator core. A coil component is produced by winding conductor wires around a forming tool several times. The coil component is cut off at a predetermined part and inserted into a slot so as to cross over the plurality of slots. Then, a coil is formed by connecting the corresponding conductor wires at cut surfaces of the coil component.

A plurality of slots is provided at a stator core. A cable component is formed by bundling a plurality of conducting wires and connectors are mounted on both ends. The cable component is inserted into corresponding slot so as to cross over the corresponding plurality of slots and then a coil is formed by connecting both ends of the cable component.

A method for mounting a coil onto a stator for a rotary electric machine. The method includes forming a coil piece by winding wire having a flat cross section into a single row lamination state including wire layers that are aligned along a line that is perpendicular to flat surfaces of the wire. The coil piece is formed so that a first portion to be inserted in the slot and a second portion that is not inserted in the slot appear alternately along the coil piece. The method also includes displacing the wire layers at the first portion from one another to change the single row lamination state to a connectively laminated stat e in which the wire layers at the portion to be inserted in the slot each adjacent pair of the wire layers partially overlap with respect to a direction perpendicular to the flat surfaces of the wire. The method further includes inserting the wires of the first portion into the slot, by passing each of the wire layers through the opening of the slot successively from the wire layer at the top of the lamination and displacing each of the wire layers at the first portion from each other.

Method for making a coil piece onto a core of rotary electric machine

A scroll-type vacuum pump includes a fixed scroll and a movable scroll. The fixed scroll has a base plate and a volute portion formed on the base plate. The movable scroll includes a base plate having a volute portion. The volute portions cooperate to form a variable displacement fluid pocket between the two scrolls. The movable scroll includes a rear boss projecting from the rear surface of the base plate and a front boss projecting from the front surface of the base plate. The rear boss is located in a working region, which includes the volute portion of the movable scroll. An eccentric shaft is integrally formed on a drive shaft. The eccentric shaft is inserted in rotates relatively to both bosses to support the movable scroll. The eccentric shaft receives a radial force generated in the working region mainly through the rear boss. Accordingly, no inclination moment is applied to the movable scroll and the movable scroll does not incline with respect to the fixed scroll. This improves the performance and efficiency of the pump.
