A printer includes a main body casing, a supply portion, and a recessed portion. The main body casing has a first surface, a second surface opposite the first surface, and a third surface connecting the first and second surfaces. The main body casing can be placed on a flat surface with the first surface in contact with the flat surface. The supply portion and the recessed portion are provided at the first surface. Through the supply portion, a medium is supplied into the main body casing. The recessed portion is recessed toward the second surface a depth not less than the thickness of the medium. The recessed portion extends from the third surface to the supply portion in a first direction and extends in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction. The length of the recessed portion in the second direction is greater than the width of the medium.

In a printing device, a controller performs at least one of a first area setting process and a second area setting process to set an anchor area and adhesive area next to two ends of a printing area based on an acquired length of an object. In the first area setting process the adhesive area is set to have a length to be a lamination length. In the second area setting process the printing area is set to have a length to be larger than or equal to the acquired length. The controller controls a cutter to perform the half cut to cut across the tape at a boundary between the printing area and the anchor area, and at a boundary between the printing area and the adhesive area, and to perform a full cut at one of ends of the anchor area and the adhesive area.

A printing device includes: a platen unit; and a main body unit. The platen unit includes a platen roller configured to convey a printing medium. The main body unit includes: a printing head; and an attachment-detachment portion which the platen unit is attachable to and detachable from. The printing head is configured to nip the printing medium in cooperation with the platen roller to perform printing on the printing medium. When the platen unit is attached to the attachment-detachment portion, the main body unit and the platen unit are assembled as a single unit. When the platen unit is detached from the attachment-detachment portion, the main body unit and the platen unit are separated as separate units.

A printing device includes: a first unit including a printing head; and a second unit including a platen roller. The printing head is configured to perform printing on a printing medium. The first unit has a first fixing member for fixing the first unit to an external housing. The first fixing member is provided at at least one of a plurality of outer surfaces of the first unit. The second unit has a second fixing member for fixing the second unit to the external housing. A slit-cutting device includes a first holder, a second holder, a first contactable member a second contactable member, and a protrusion member. The first holder includes a medium faceable area and a first contactable member. The second holder holds a blade and includes a second contactable member. A cutting edge of the blade may cut a medium between the first holder and the blade. The first contactable member and the second contactable member contact each other and defined a closest approach distance between the cutting edge and the first holder. The closest approach distance is longer than zero and below a thickness of the medium. The protrusion member protrudes more than the closest approach distance from a part of the medium faceable area. The cutting edge may make a cut line includes at least a part of a slit-cut and a full-cut in a cutting edge direction in the medium.

Slit-cutting device

A printing apparatus includes: a conveying unit; a printing unit; a disposing stand provided on a downstream side of the printing unit in a first direction, the disposing stand having a disposing section where a printing medium is disposed; a cutting blade that cuts the printing medium disposed in the disposing section; and a supporting member that supports the cutting blade movably from a non-cutting position, via a partial cut position, to a full cut position. The non-cutting position is a position where a blade edge is separated from the printing medium disposed in the disposing section. The partial cut position is a position where the cutting blade cuts a part of the printing medium in a second direction. The full cut position is a position where a blade edge passes beyond the disposing section to fully cut the printing medium in the second direction.

Printing apparatus

A liquid ejection apparatus includes: a recording portion; a medium-supply portion; a support member for supporting a recording medium while facing the recording portion; a conveyor mechanism including a conveyance guide and a conveyor roller; a first housing accommodating the recording portion; and a second housing accommodating the medium-supply portion, the support member, and the conveyor mechanism. The first housing is pivotable about a pivot shaft with respect to the second housing. The conveyance guide includes a guide portion disposed downstream of the conveyor roller and upstream of the recording portion and having an inclined guide face. The guide portion is opposed to the recording portion in the second direction with a clearance therebetween. The recording portion is configured to pass through a space corresponding to the clearance when the first housing is pivoted between the ejection position and the distant position.

Liquid ejection apparatus

A liquid ejection apparatus is provided. The liquid ejection apparatus includes a first housing, a second housing, covers and a moving mechanism. The first housing is rotatable relative to the second housing about a rotational shaft between a close position and a separate position. The covers are movable relative to heads provided to the first housing between a protection position of covering the heads and a retraction position. When the first housing is moved from the close position toward the separate position, the moving mechanism moves the covers such that an angle formed between the first housing and the second housing when a cover corresponding to the head away from the rotational shaft reaches the protection position is smaller than an angle formed between the first housing and the second housing when a cover corresponding to the head close to the rotational shaft reaches the protection position.

An ink-jet recording apparatus may include a recording head comprising an ejection surface, a first wall configured to oppose the ejection surface, and a second wall configured to enclose surroundings of the ejection surface. The ink-jet recording apparatus may include a first wall moving unit which is configured to move the first wall between a first position and a second position. The ink-jet recording apparatus may include a second wall moving unit which is configured to move the second wall between a third position and a fourth position. An attitude of the first wall positioned at the second position and an attitude of the first wall at the first position are different. The first wall positioned at the first position and the second wall positioned at the third position form a closed space which covers the ejection port.

A liquid ejection apparatus includes: a conveyor mechanism conveying a recording medium in a conveying direction; a plurality of liquid ejection heads each having an ejection face from which a liquid is ejected and arranged in the conveying direction; a support member opposed to the ejection face and supporting the recording medium; a first suction mechanism which has a first suction opening located between two of the plurality of liquid ejection heads adjacent to each other in the conveying direction, and which sucks air via the first suction opening; and at least one first contact member located between the two liquid ejection heads in the conveying direction and contactable with a recording face of the recording medium at a position closer to the support member than the first suction opening in a direction perpendicular to the ejection face.

A liquid ejection apparatus is provided. The liquid ejection apparatus includes two line-type heads, each of which includes an ejection surface having a plurality of ejection ports for ejecting liquid to a recording medium; and two covers provided for the two heads, respectively, and each of the covers being movable relative the corresponding head between a protection position where the cover covers the ejection surface of the corresponding head and a retraction position where the cover does not cover the ejection surface of the corresponding head. Each of the heads includes a first side close to a head other than the corresponding head and a second side away from the head other than the corresponding head. The retraction position of each of the covers is located at the second side of the corresponding head.

An inkjet recording apparatus includes: an ink ejection head having ink ejection openings; a conveyance mechanism which is disposed below the ink ejection head and conveys a recording medium facing the ink ejection openings; a recording medium feeder which is disposed below the conveyance mechanism, is capable of stocking therein a recording medium, and feeds a recording medium to the conveyance mechanism; a refeeder which is partially disposed below the recording medium feeder and which refeeds, to the conveyance mechanism, a recording medium having conveyed by the conveyance mechanism; and an ink reservoir which is disposed below the refeeder and reserves therein ink to be fed to the ink ejection head.

Inkjet recording apparatus

A fixing device for fixing a developed image of developer onto a recording sheet by heating and fusing the developer includes a heating roller, a pressure roller and a driving force input element. The heating roller is configured to be heated by a heat source, such as a halogen heater.
