This image forming device includes an image former, a fuser, a sheet transport path that transports a paper sheet to the image former and the fuser, first and second discharge ports that are connected to the sheet transport path so as to enable a paper sheet on which a toner image has been fused to be discharged to the outside, and a controller. The sheet transport path includes first to third transport paths, and a first and second switcher. The controller, in the case of duplex printing, controls the first and second switchers such that a one end side of the paper sheet is transported to the second discharge port, and controls the second switcher such that, when the one end side is being discharged from the second discharge port, reverses the paper sheet and causes the another end side to be transported toward the image former.

In a registration step, the temperature near a polygon mirror () is detected by a first temperature sensor (), and the internal ambient temperature of an image forming apparatus () is detected by a second temperature sensor (). Also, a registration adjustment value of each color is determined and stored in a memory (). In a printing step, the registration adjustment value (A) of each color determined in the registration step is corrected based on a change in the temperature near the polygon mirror () and a change in the internal ambient temperature of the image forming apparatus (). Furthermore, the write timing of an electrostatic latent image onto each photosensitive drum () by an optical scanning device () is controlled. Then, the position of the electrostatic latent image on each photosensitive drum () is shifted by an amount corresponding to the corrected registration adjustment value.

Image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus includes, for example, a first knob serving as a first operating member for manually turning a registration roller member in a sheet transporting unit and a second knob serving as a second operating member for manually turning a fixing roller in a fixing device. The first and second operating devices, such as knobs, are provided in such a manner as to be exposed onto a side of the apparatus body facing a direction perpendicular to a direction in which the cabinet may be opened.
