During sputtering for use in thin film deposition, anomalous discharge is prevented from generating between a target and a backing plate, and a target presser. In the target presser also serving as an earth shield and a deposition preventing plate, an insulating member staying in contact with the sputtering target or the backing plate is provided with a recess constituted of two or more different depths so that the recess does not come in contact with the sputtering target or the backing plate.

A magnetic clutch has a driving-side rotating member for holding one of a magnetic substance member and a hysteresis member and rotating in asynchronization with a rotary shaft; a driven-side rotating member for holding the other of the magnetic substance member and the hysteresis member and rotating in synchronization with the shaft, the driven-side and driving-side rotating members being spaced apart on the shaft; and a device for regulating the rotation of the shaft with sliding friction caused by viscosity. Alternatively, the driving-side rotating member can rotate in synchronization with a rotary shaft, and the driven-side rotating member can rotate in asynchronization with the shaft.

A color electrostatic recording apparatus in which a color picture can be reproduced without misconvergence of colors through actuating a recording head to expand or contract and compensating the recording position of each image in accordance with the information of expansion/contraction and meandering of a recording medium which has been detected by reading register marks provided on the side edges of the recording medium.

Color electrostatic recording apparatus

In a flat-shaped display apparatus has a face plate, a rear plate, side plates, and necessary electrodes therein, a supporting plate and plural supporting rods which are connected to an edge of the supporting plate at intervals of a certain distance are provided between the face plate and the rear plate. The supporting rods are made of metal and all bonded parts are covered by guide plates so that no adhesive is exposed to the electron beams. Therefore, over-scanning of the electron beams can be made, without the electron beams impinging on the adhesive thereby enabling effective distortion compensation.
