This invention provides a surface-treating agent, as a hard surface-treatment or stain-proofing agent, comprising titanium oxide of an anatase form, a thermoplastic resin and an organic medium, the titanium oxide and the thermoplastic resin being dispersed in the organic medium, wherein the content of the titanium oxide is within the range of 0.05-20 wt % and the content of the thermoplastic resin within the range of 0.05-20 wt %. This surface-treating agent is usable for vehicles such as cars and aircrafts, office furniture, or buildings, and has a good workability, stain-proofing effect and water spot formation-preventing effect.

A fingerprint detecting agent and a fingerprint detecting method using the agent, which can be used to detect latent fingerprints being in a wet condition, the fingerprint detecting agent includes a fixer containing silicone series compound, fluoride series compound, hydrocarbon series compound, animal or vegetable oil, higher fatty acid, or higher alcohol, and an arbitrary mixture thereof; a diluent containing polar soluent; a developer containing achromatic colored powder or chromatic colored powder. Latent fingerprints can be easily detected by spraying the fingerprint detecting agent; particularly, even if the latent fingerprints to be detected are in a wet condition, it is possible to detect them speedily and certainly.

Fingerprint developing agent and method for developing fingerprints

A coating surface-lustering agent providing both excellent water repellence and stainproofing to coating surfaces is provided and suitable for use in lusterig the coating surfaces of bodies of automobiles, electric cars, aircraft or office furniture, or outside walls of buildings. The coating surface-lustering agent contains at least one modified silicone resin selected from the group consisting of an acrylurethane-modified silicone resin, acryl-modified silicone resin and fluoroacryl-modified silicone resin.

Coating surface-lustering agent

A method for cleansing and lustering a surface comprises spraying on the surface a cleansing-lustering agent essentially consisting of lanolin and an O/W emulsion composed of an emulsifying agent, a silicone oil and water thereby depositing a foamed mass of the cleansing-lustering agent on said surface and allowing the foamed mass to defoam spontaneously after a prescribed period of standing and cleanse the surface. A foaming cleansing-lustering agent is disclosed which essentially consists of lanolin and an O/W emulsion composed of an emulsifying agent, a silicone oil and water.

A novel water-repellent glazing agent is disclosed. The agent contains a modified organic silicone oil, which is represented by the general formula ##STR1## wherein X.sup.1, X.sup.2 and X.sup.3 respectively stand for CH.sub.3 or a long chain alkyl group having 10-30 carbon atoms and at least one of X.sup.1, X.sup.2 and X.sup.3 is a long chain alkyl group having 10-30 carbon atoms and m and n are respectively 20-80 and 3-10. This agent has excellent water repellency and glazing effect as well as excellent operability.

Method for cleansing and lustering a surface

The glazing agent contains at least one member selected from a group consisting of a petroleum solvent, silicone oil and wax and at least one member selected from a group consisting of a lower alcohol, oil-soluble ionic surfactant and silicone resin. The glazing agent is excellent in detergency of a stain, or lime deposit, particularly on a coating surface of the vehicle body, as well as in water repelency and its continuity.
