A spindle () of a seat belt retractor is rotationally driven when required by a motor () to the webbing take-up direction side through a power transmission mechanism section (). Further, the spindle () is always connected to a take-up spring () and is always subjected to rotational power acting to the webbing take-up side. The structure enables a user wearing a seat belt to be restrained even in failure, realizing a safer and more reliable restraining device.

Belt retractor for a seat belt system

A seatbelt retractor having a switching device with a gas generator and a switch housing having a gas generator housing portion for accommodating the gas generator and a gas flow path that communicates with the gas generator housing portion so that gas generated by the gas generator passes through the gas flow path. Further, the gas generator housing portion and the gas flow path are formed in the switch housing in a curved shape, and a die-cut hole extending in a direction of the gas flow path on an opposite side of the gas flow path to the gas generator housing portion is blocked from the gas flow path by the gas generator.

Buckle device for seat belt and manufacturing method thereof

A seat belt retractor () is provided with: a spindle () around which a seat belt (B) is wound; a torsion bar () disposed in a cavity () of the spindle (), an axial end portion of the torsion bar () being attached to an axial end portion of the spindle (); a first pretensioner () that is attached to the spindle () at least during a collision so as to cause the spindle () to rotate in a retraction direction using a gas pressure; and a second pretensioner () that is attached to another axial end portion of the torsion bar () at least during a collision so as to cause the spindle () to rotate in the retraction direction via the torsion bar () using the gas pressure.

Seat belt retractor

A retractor includes a slide nut that is caused to slide toward a tread head while rotating by a mesh between a first male screw groove and a female screw groove when the tread head is locked and a spindle rotates in a direction for unreeling a webbing, and a slider that is caused to slide toward the slide nut by a mesh between the female screw groove and a second male screw groove. A torsional rigidity of a second shaft part of a torsion bar is larger than that of a first shaft part, and a play is eliminated before a gap such that the slide nut and the slider are integrated.

A button of a shoulder position adjuster device is provided including an outer surface portion which, at a normal state, is generally continuous with an outer surface of a cover facing an inner space of a passenger compartment. Flexible left and right outer lateral walls are formed continuously with the outer surface portion and have lock portions which are locked on to a side member at the normal state and which are released from the locked state at the time of a pulling operation. Additionally, a pair of connecting walls are provided which extend from the outer surface portion towards a guide rail side in the left and right outer lateral walls and connect the latch pin.

A seat belt device has a gas generator for generating a high pressure gas when the vehicle is in emergency, a cylinder for conducting the high pressure gas from the gas generator, a piston received movably within the cylinder and pressed and moved by the high pressure gas, and a drive unit for rotating a winding shaft of a seat belt retractor in a direction of removing the slack of a belt, using the movement of the piston, wherein the pretensioner is employed with the energy absorbing mechanism, for reversely rotating the winding shaft if a tension acting on the belt exceeds a predetermined value after removing the slack of the belt.

Seat belt device

An automotive passenger restraint and protection apparatus prevents damage to a seatbelt. An electric retractor having a motor for retracting and protracting the seatbelt includes the automotive passenger restraint and protection apparatus. The motor is controlled by a CPU. The CPU detects whether the seatbelt is attached to, or disconnected from, the occupant, and whether the seatbelt has been retracted to a limit thereof. The motor is controlled by the CPU such that when the CPU detects that the seatbelt is retracted and when the CPU subsequently detects that the seatbelt has been fully retracted to the limit thereof, the seatbelt is prevented from being further retracted.

Automotive passenger restraint and protection apparatus and seatbelt protraction and retraction amount-detecting device

An automotive passenger restraint and protection apparatus for an automotive vehicle has a seatbelt and operates to restrain an occupant of the automotive vehicle by the seatbelt to protect the occupant. An electric retractor has a DC motor for retracting and protracting the seatbelt. An MPU controls the DC motor. Protraction of the seatbelt by the occupant is detected. When the protraction of said belt is detected, the MPU controls the DC motor so as to protract the seatbelt. A seatbelt protraction and retraction amount-detecting device calculates an amount of protraction or retraction of the seatbelt, based upon at least one of a number of times pulsating components of detected terminal voltage across the DC motor rises above a first predetermined value from a value below a first predetermined value, a number of times the pulsating components drops below a second predetermined value from a value above the second predetermined value, a frequency component obtained by frequency analysis of the pulsating components, and results of time integration of the detected terminal voltage, and a detected rotational direction of the motor.

The present invention provides a seat belt system comprising: a moving element ( ) rotatably received in a housing ( ); a device ( ) for applying a pressurized gas to the moving element ( ) when abrupt deceleration occurs on a vehicle; a tensile member ( ) responsive to movement of the moving element ( ) extruded due to the pressurized gas to generate a rotational torque; and a clutch mechanism ( ) for transmitting the rotational torque generated by the tensile member ( ) to a retractor shaft ( ) to rotate the shaft ( ) in a webbing-winding direction.

Seat belt system

A seat belt retractor 100 with an energy absorbing member 2 of a torsion bar which is coupled at one end with a bobbin 3 and at the other end with a locking base 5 is disclosed. The energy absorbing member 2 includes an energy absorbing portion 2c that is torsionally deformable, and fixing portions 2a and 2b provided at both ends of the energy absorbing portion 2c. A hardness of each of the coupling portions 2a and 2b is larger than that of the energy absorbing portion 2c.

Retractor for a seat belt

A webbing retractor is provided with a lock mechanism. The webbing retractor further comprises a bobbin, a webbing-holding member and a webbing. The bobbin has a drum portion and a pair of flanges arranged on opposite ends of the drum. The flanges define grooves formed in a mutually-opposing relationship and angularly extending over a predetermined length in a webbing-releasing direction as a first direction of rotation. The webbing-holding member extends between the grooves. The webbing is secured at one end thereof in the bobbin, wound back about the webbing-holding member at a first portion thereof apart from the one end thereof toward an opposite end thereof, and then wound in layers around the drum portion in the first direction of rotation at a second portion thereof closer to the opposite end than the first portion.

Webbing Retractor

In a retractor with a clamping mechanism, when a tension exceeding a predetermined value acting on a webbing in a vehicle emergency, a guide member moves in the webbing draw-out direction while plastically deforming a holding device, with the movement of a clamp member in the webbing draw-out direction. After the removal of the guide member, the guide member moves in the webbing draw-out direction while plastically deforming the holding device for preventing its movement. At the same time, the webbing is tightened on the winding shaft. Further, in an initial stage of holding the webbing by the clamping mechanism, the clamp member holds the webbing with all of clamp teeth formed on the clamp member, thereby preventing the draw-out of the webbing. When a tension acting on the webbing after the webbing is held exceeds a predetermined value, plastic deformation of the guide member for guiding the clamp member starts. The clamp member which holds the webbing moves along the webbing. Through the movement of these member, kinetic energy transferred from the occupant to the webbing is absorbed to thereby hold back an increase of the tensile force acting on the webbing.

Retractor with a clamping mechanism

In a retractor with a clamp mechanism for holding a webbing directly in a vehicle emergency, the retractor provides a movable clamp member for holding the webbing between the lower plate and the clamp member, and a guide member for guiding the clamp member to a webbing holding position, in which the clamp member includes a clamp teeth portion for clamping and engaging the webbing with a webbing opposing surface of the clamp member, a plane portion located on an opposite side to the webbing opposing surface, and a rear end side edge provided on a rear end side of the plane portion, and in which the guide member includes a sliding contact surface for sliding contact with the plane portion of the clamp member and a deforming portion deformable substantially in parallel to the webbing opposing surface of the clamp member. A movable wedge-shaped clamp member may be provided with a hold portion including a clamp teeth portion formed in a shape capable of biting into a surface of the webbing and shearable and deformable by a tensile force of a predetermined value or greater, and including a pressure teeth portion capable of applying resistance to the webbing moved in the webbing draw-out direction by a tensile force of a predetermined value or greater.

Retractor with a clamp mechanism

In response to data supplied from a system controller, a display microcomputer of a television receiver produces a display in a sub-screen of the cathode-ray tube of a main menu corresponding to the numerous operating functions of which the television receiver is capable. Some of these functions include a picture-in-picture function, a satellite broadcast receiving function, and a picture-recording reservation function. When a user of the television receiver selects an item on the main menu corresponding to the picture-in-picture function by using a remote controller, the system controller controls an audio video switch, the picture-in-picture circuit, and a display microcomputer to provide two picture-in-picture sub-screens displayed simultaneously. One sub-screen contains a sub-screen menu to enable the user to set parameters relative to the picture displayed in the other sub-screen.
