A display device includes a display panel including a display region, a first terminal region and a second terminal region facing each other across the display region, a first high power supply trunk wiring line disposed between the display region and the first terminal region, a second high power supply trunk wiring line disposed between the display region and the second terminal region, and a high power supply voltage line. The first high power supply trunk wiring line is connected via the first terminal region to a high power supply voltage source, and the second high power supply trunk wiring line is connected to the high power supply voltage source via the second terminal region and a flexible cable connected to the second terminal region.

Display device including terminal regions facing each other across the display region

A frame region of one of the display units (i) includes a terminal portion provided with terminals whose terminal surfaces are flush with a display surface, and (ii) is bent to allow the terminal surface of the terminal portion to be oriented to the opposite side of the display surface. A frame region of the other one of the display units includes a terminal portion provided with a terminals whose terminal surfaces are flush with a display surface. The terminal portions of the two display units are bonded to each other to allow the two terminals to be electrically connected to each other.

A look-up table () includes two types of tables having stored therein correction values for use in overshoot drive. Based on a current-frame video signal X, a previous-frame video signal Y stored in a frame memory (), and a polarity-reversing signal REV, a correction process portion () reads a correction value from the look-up table (), and outputs the correction value being read as the correction video signal V. In such a manner, a correcting circuit () is used to control the degree of overshoot in accordance with the polarity-reversing signal REV. Thus, it is possible to suitably control the change in pixel brightness regardless of the polarity of the applied voltage, thereby preventing any fringes from being generated while displaying moving images.

Liquid crystal display device and method for emphasizing temporal signal change on a video signal based on at least a polarity for the video signal

A control section () merely passes an incoming image data signal DAT onto a source driving section for display driving during the display of a still image. During the display of a moving image, the control section () converts, using a computing section () and a look-up table (), a grayscale level signal in the incoming image data signal DAT to a grayscale level signal that is obtainable without using those application voltages at which the response speed of liquid crystal is slow. The control section () then outputs the resultant grayscale level signal to the source driving section for display driving.

The present invention is so arranged as to include (a) gradation reference potential generating means including a group of output terminals whose voltages are determined in accordance with a voltage division ratio of one ladder resistor, so as to output gradation reference potentials, for example, of 1024, which is a 16 multiple of a required 64-gradations; (b) output terminal designating means including a memory for designating, among from the output terminals, an output terminal for each of the 64-gradations required, in accordance with the display modes; and (c) selecting means for selecting an output terminal that corresponds to an input gradation signal, among from the output terminals designated by the output terminal designating section, and for applying a voltage via the thus selected output terminal to a display screen. With this arrangement, it is possible to attain very similar gradient signal-brightness characteristics for respective display modes with high accuracy, in order to prevent a gradient display from being changed due to switchover of the display modes.

Display apparatus

First to fourth lenses are aligned in an optical axis direction by a lens-barrel of a camera, an O-ring is disposed between the first lens and the lens-barrel, an O-ring is disposed between the fourth lens and the lens-barrel, a space is formed between the first and second lenses, a space is formed between the second and fourth lenses, a space is formed between the third and fourth lenses, and flow of air between the spaces is precluded. The camera thus configured is free of dewing on the lens or a protective plate exposed to the exterior, even when the inside temperature is raised due to heat generation in a CCD or a mounting substrate on which the CCD is mounted.

An optical frequency sweep signal generator using an optical frequency variable bandpass filter which can be practically used is provided. The optical frequency sweep signal generator comprises: a circulation control circuit for generating a first electric signal which indicates the start and the end of a sweep; an optical loop circuit; an optical frequency variable bandpass filter, provided in the loop circuit, for suppressing circulation of natural emission light output from an optical amplifier; a light receiving element for converting a part of light output from the optical loop circuit into a second electric signal; a sweep signal analyzing circuit for outputting a set value for compensating for a difference between the center frequency of the optical frequency variable bandpass filter and the optical frequency of the pulsed light based on the first and second electric signals; and a driving circuit for supplying a driving signal for determining the center frequency of the optical frequency variable bandpass filter to the optical frequency variable bandpass filter, based on the first electric signal and the set value.

Optical frequency sweep signal generator

The invention offers an optical fiber amplifier with good frequency characteristics which allows the gain to be held constant even without an input signal beam and allows gain control with respect to input optical signals with high-speed power fluctuations. An excitation beam source 8 supplies an excitation beam for light amplification and a control beam source 15 supplies a control beam for controlling the gain to an EDF 4 which amplifies a signal beam by means of optical excitation. An excitation beam monitor 9 measures the power of the excitation beam when inputted to the EDF 4 and an excitation beam monitor 12 measures the power of the excitation beam when outputted from the EDF 4. A comparator 11 calculates the ratio between the power measured by the excitation beam monitor 9 and the power measured by the excitation beam monitor 12. A drive circuit 14 controls the power of the control beam supplied by the control beam source 15 based on the results obtained by the comparator 11.

Optical fiber amplifier

An optical polarization controller comprises a polarization control element, a polarizer, a light divider and a photo-detector. The polarization control element rotates a plane of polarization of an Input signal light by a rotation angle in a predetermined rotational direction and outputs the result as a rotated signal light. The polarizer extracts a component of the rotated signal light having a predetermined plane of polarization and outputs the component as a polarized signal light. The light divider divides the polarized signal light into a plurality of polarized signal lights which have the same planes of polarization as the plane of the polarized light outputted by the polarizer. The photo-detector detects a level of one of the plurality of polarized signal lights and supplies a control signal indicating the level to the polarization control element. Under this control, the plane of polarization of the signal light outputted by the polarization control element is controlled so as to correspond to the plane of polarization of the light divider.
