A device for measuring running distance of a yarn, which detects an abnormality in yarn moving along a path of travel past a means for detecting the abnormality. The measuring device is capable of generating a stop signal in response to detecting the abnormality and measures the distance travelled following the generation of the stop signal. The location of the abnormality is indicated by various means including a plurality of lamps and numerics display. Further, the device can stop the abnormality at a predetermined distance.

Device for measuring and controlling running distance of a yarn

A sizing machine capable of maintaining a sizing liquid at a desired temperature by controlling the supply of steam into a cavity box containing the sizing liquid is provided with a sizing liquid consumption measuring system capable of accurately measuring a sizing liquid consumption. The sizing liquid consumption measuring system measures a sizing liquid consumption automatically by measuring the quantity of water added to the sizing liquid contained in the cavity box by steam supplied into the cavity box, and the level of the sizing liquid in the cavity box.

Sizing machine

A controller for a winding machine, for controlling the tension of a work running from a feed roller to a winding beam. The controller comprises a speed ratio control unit having a high response speed to control exactly the respective rotating speeds of a feed motor for driving the feed roller, and a winding motor for driving the winding beam during the decelerating operation of the winding machine to maintain the work at a tension substantially the same as a predetermined tension for stationary operation during the decelerating operation of the winding machine. The controller reduces time necessary for stopping the winding machine to the least extent.

Controller for a winding machine

A size viscosity controller for a slasher, for controlling the viscosity of the size circulated within the sizing vat of the slasher. The viscosity of the size is maintained at a desired viscosity by controlling heat supply units on the basis of the deviation of the measured temperature of the size from a desired temperature so that the size is maintained at the desired temperature and, at the same time, regulating the concentration of the size by supplying wet heat, such as steam or hot water, to the size or heating the size by dry heat, such as heat generated by an electric heater, to regulated the concentration of the size.
