A battery and an electronic apparatus are disclosed by which it can be discriminated with a simple configuration whether or not the battery is of a thin type. The battery is configured such that a wall portion for discrimination of a battery characteristic which is swollen in a lengthwise direction and connects to a connector section is formed at a location of one of end faces positioned rather near to an end portion in a widthwise direction of a case of the battery.

Battery and electronic apparatus

A connector on an electronic device includes a pair of locking plates, a guide groove, and a space. Each locking plate has, on its edge, a first concave portion, a first convex portion, a second concave portion, and a second convex portion. An intermediate surface for determining a position of an accessory device below the guide groove is provided below the second concave portions and the second convex portions. A contact mounting surface provided with plural contacts is provided below the first convex portions. Guide surfaces for determining a position of the accessory device in the width direction of the guide groove are provided below the first concave portions and the first convex portions.

Electronic device and accessory device

An electronic apparatus and a battery by which battery inserting and removing operations can be performed smoothly with certainty are disclosed. When a battery is inserted into a battery accommodating chamber, a locking projection of a spring is contacted once with and resiliently deformed outwardly in a widthwise direction by and then slidably moves on an edge portion of a projecting wall. However, when a connector section and an electronic apparatus side connector section are coupled soon, the locking portion of the spring is engaged with a locking recess. In this state, an inclined face of the locking portion displaced to the electronic apparatus side connector section is lockably engaged with a wall face of the locking recess displaced toward the connector section and biases the battery forwardly toward the electronic apparatus side connector section by resilient force of the resilient portion.
