A photosensitive sheet (11) having photohardenable microcapsules is unrolled to be intermittently fed onto the exposure stage (300), and color separated images are projected onto a common area of the photosensitive sheet. A receiver paper (12) having a color coupler layer is overlaid on the photosensitive sheet, and pressed with a press roller mechanism (700), whereby a color image appears on the receiver paper. The receiver paper is separated from the photosensitive sheet, and thermally treated with a heater (820).

Method and apparatus for scanning an object by using the light

An image scanning and recording system includes a recording unit for duplicating and recording halftone images on a photosensitive material. The recording unit comprises an acousto-optic light modulating element including a plurality of ultrasonic wave exciting portions disposed side by side on a single acousto-optic medium. The ultrasonic wave exciting portions independently, modulate incident light into a plurality of modulated light beams in response to image signals from photoelectrical scanning means. A scale-down optical system then reduces the diameter of the plurality of modulated light beams, and a plurality of light transfer elements transfer the light beams from the scale-down optical system to a focussing lens system to be projected therefrom onto a film mounted on a recording cylinder.

Image recording device

An image scanning and recording device includes a recording unit for duplicating and recording halftone images on a photosensitive material. The recording unit comprises a light source associated with an acousto-optic light modulating element including a plurality of ultrasonic wave exciting portions disposed in an array side by side on a single acousto-optic medium. The ultrasonic wave exciting portions each independently modulate incident light into the respective modulated light beams in response to image signals from photoelectrical scanning means. In addition means are provided for directing light from the source to the acousto-optic light modulating elements. Also provided are means for forming rows of tiny light spots corresponding to the modulated light beams on a recording material.

A light beam distributor comprises a light transmitting block defining a pair of wedgewise opposed surfaces so that a single incident light beam is split and emitted into a plurality of light beams from one surface while it is repeatedly reflected between the pair of surfaces.

Light beam distributor and an acousto-optic light modulating element

A light ray emitted by a light source and which is to be modulated by an acoustic-optical modulator element is stabilized by its intensity being detected before it enters the acoustic-optical modulator element and being used to produce correction signals. The correction signals are used to amplitude-modulate a high-frequency carrier in reverse phase to the change of intensity of the light ray, to produce corrected carrier signals. Then the corrected carrier signals are further amplitude-modulated by control signals to produce modulator signals which are used to modulate the light ray in the acoustic-optical modulator element.

Method for stabilizing a modulated light ray

An apparatus for stabilizing a laser beam to be used for exposure in an image-reproducing apparatus wherein said beam is suitably controlled by image signals obtained from the scanning of the original beam as modulated. A laser beam, after being suitably modulated by an ultrasonic light modulator, is branched out by a half mirror into two beams, one of which is to be used for exposing a photosensitive material and the other is used as a negative feedback signal. This feedback signal is then added to an image signal so that a linearity between exposing beam and image signals are greatly improved. Further, by improving the linearity of exposing beam, the stability of the exposing beam is simultaneously improved.
