A gas filling apparatus having a filling nozzle with high operability. A gas filling apparatus, comprising; a filling mechanism for transporting a gas from a gas supply source via a gas transporting pipe while measuring flow rate of the gas; a filling hoseconnected to the gas transporting pipe, the filling hose having a filling nozzleat an end; a nozzle hookon which the filling nozzle is hung; and a guide mechanismfor guiding the filling nozzle from the nozzle hook to a predetermined position when the filling nozzle is detached from the nozzle hook. The guide mechanism can guide the filling nozzle to a filling port of a fuel tank mounted on a vehicle, which allows the filling nozzle to move to the filling port of the fuel tank with ease even though the filling nozzle is heavy or a high pressure gas such as hydrogen gas is handled. The nozzle hook can include an injection portfor injecting a dry gas to the filling nozzle hung on the nozzle hook.

A safety joint capable of preventing a moment generated by swinging of a filling hose from acting on the safety joint when a tensile force more or equal to a predetermined value is applied to the filling hose. The safety joint includes a plug with a cylindrical shape in which a passage is formed, a socket in which a passage continuing to the passage in the plug is formed, and a shut off valve mounted on the passage in the socket. The filling apparatus () including: a storage tank (); a filling nozzle () for filling hydrogen from the storage tank () via a fuel filling mechanism and a vehicle side filling port () to an in-vehicle hydrogen filling tank (); a clutch mechanism () for maintaining a condition that the filling nozzle () and the vehicle side filling port () are connected with each other; and a lever position moving mechanism () for moving the lever () radially outward an end portion of the clutch mechanism () on the vehicle side filling port () side when the filling nozzle () and the vehicle side filling port () are connected with each other.

Filling apparatus

Filling device

Pipe joints (: pipe joints for emergency releasing) of the present invention include a cylindrical plug () in which a passage (A: in-plug passage) is formed, a cylindrical socket () in which a passage (A: in-socket passage) is formed, and shutoff valves () mounted in the plug () and the socket () for opening the passages (A,A) of the plug () and the socket () when the plug () is inserted into the socket () and shutting the passages (A,A) of the plug () and the socket () when the plug () detached from the socket (), wherein central axes of the passages (A,A) of the plug () and the socket () do not form a straight line.
