A silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material comprising a support having thereon photographic constituent layers comprising at least three silver halide emulsion layers each having a spectral sensitivity different from one another and containing yellow, magenta and cyan color forming couplers, respectively and a light-insensitive hydrophilic colloid layer, wherein the cyan color forming coupler is at least one dye forming coupler represented by the formula (I) shown below, at least one of the silver halide emulsion layers containing the cyan color forming coupler contains a silver halide emulsion composed of high silver chloride content grains having a silver chloride content of 80 mol % or more, and the high silver chloride content grains are tabular silver halide grains having (100) faces as major faces: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 each represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent; Z represents a non-metallic atomic group necessary for forming a ring, which may be substituted; X represents a heterocyclic group, a substituted amino group or an aryl group; Y represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent; and R.sub.6 represents a substituent. The silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material is rapidly processable, has less dependence on processing conditions and provides a color image having excellent image quality and sharpness. It is also suitable for scanning exposure using a semiconductor laser as a light source. A method of forming a color image comprising subjecting the silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material to scanning exposure is also disclosed.

In the improved image forming method, a silver halide photographic material whose characteristic curve passes below the line connecting three points A (logE.sub.max -1.55, fog+0.05), B (logE.sub.max -1.10, fog+0.25) and C (logE.sub.max -0.95, fog+0.50) on a coordinate system (E.sub.max is a maximum quantity of light) and passes above point P (logE.sub.max, fog+1.70) is subjected to digital exposure and thereafter processed photographically to form an image. This method is capable of forming an image of good gradation having no density skips in the highlighted area.

Image forming method

A method of forming colored images is disclosed. A silver halide color photographic photosensitive material which contains at least one yellow coupler represented by formula (I) in a yellow color forming silver halide emulsion layer which is established on a support is exposed using a scanning exposure system in which the exposure time per picture element is shorter than 10.sup.-4 seconds and then subjected to color development processing: ##STR1## wherein A represents ##STR2## X represents an organic group which is required to form, along with the nitrogen atom, a nitrogen containing heterocyclic ring, Y represents an aromatic group or a heterocyclic group, and Z represents a group which is eliminated on reaction of the coupler represented by formula (I) with an oxidation product of a developing agent. The method provides high quality hard copy both cheaply and quickly by means of a scanning exposure using high density light such as lasers for example. It also provides a method of forming colored images which is improved in respect of the variation in photographic performance with respect to fluctuations in development processing.

There is disclosed a silver halide color photographic material and a method for forming a color image using the photographic material. The photographic material comprises a reflective support made up of a base and two or more waterresisting resin covering layers which contain a white pigment and a silver halide emulsion layer containing a yellow coupler represented by formula (I), (II), or (III) and preferably further containing a compound represented by formula (IV), (V), (VI), (VII), or (VIII), each of which formula is defined in claim, on the reflective support.

There is disclosed a method for forming an image by processing a silver halide color photographic material having at least one silver halide emulsion layer on a support, wherein at least one layer of the silver halide emulsion layers of said color photographic material comprises silver halide grains which is high in silver chloride content and whose silver chloride content is 80 mol % or more; said silver halide grains are tabular silver halide grains having (100) planes as main planes; and said color photographic material is processed with the replenishment rate of a replenisher having a bleaching capacity in a desilvering step being 150 ml or less per m.sup.2 of the photographic material. The method for forming an image on a silver halide color photographic material of the present invention is excellent in delivering characteristics, even when the replenishment rate of bleach-fix solution is reduced remarkably.

A silver halide photographic material is disclosed, which has on a reflective support at least one light-sensitive layer containing silver halide emulsion grains, wherein said reflective support has at least one waterproof resin coated layer which contains at least 2 g/m.sup.2 of a white pigment in waterproof resin coated layer at the light-sensitive layer coated side and further at least one light-sensitive layer contains at least one compound represented by following general formula (I) in a molecular dispersion state of a monomolecule or a dimer; ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 to R.sub.4 each represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent, the sum total of the atomic weights of at least one of (R.sub.1 +R.sub.3) and (R.sub.2 +R.sub.4) being not more than 160; n represents 0, 1, or 2; and M represents a hydrogen atom or an alkali metal.

Silver halide photographic material and color image forming process

A silver halide color light-sensitive material comprising a reflective support having provided thereon a yellow-forming light-sensitive layer, a magenta-forming light-sensitive layer, and a cyan-forming light-sensitive layer, wherein said magenta-forming layer contains a pyrazolo[1,5-b][1,2,4]triazole magenta coupler having a substituted phenyl at the 2-position and a bulky substituent at the 6-position, and said light-sensitive material has a reflection density of not less than 0.3. The light-sensitive material has excellent sharpness and reduced dependence on processing.

A silver halide photographic material comprising at least one silver halide emulsion layer and at least one non-light-sensitive hydrophilic colloidal layer provided on a support. The silver halide emulsion layer or the hydrophilic colloidal layer contains a dye represented by the formula (I): ##STR1## in which A.sup.1 is an alkyl group, a substituted alkyl group, an aryl group or a substituted aryl group; each of Q.sup.1 and Q.sup.2 is hydrogen, an alkyl group or a substituted alkyl group, or Q.sup.1 and Q.sup.2 are combined with each other to form a five or six-membered heterocyclic ring; Q.sup.3 is hydrogen, a halogen atom, carboxyl, hydroxyl, methyl or methoxy; each of M.sup.1 and M.sup.2 is hydrogen, a metal atom or an atomic group that forms a monovalent cation; and p is 2, 3 or 4.

There is provided a method for forming an image, which comprises processing a silver halide color photographic material that has a high-silver-chloride silver halide emulsion and which contains in the photographic material a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound, the solubility product of which for the silver salt is in a limited range, with a color developer containing chloride ions and bromide ions in a limited concentration, respectively. The method is excellent in forming an image that can be performed rapidly, and is high in sensitivity, in prevention of processing color-mixing, and in less fluctuation of the photographic quality involved in continuous processing.

A method of forming an image in which a silver halide photographic material having on a waterproof resin coated support, which contains titanium dioxide in the resin, one or more light-sensitive layers each containing silver halide emulsion grains where at least one light-sensitive layer has been spectrally sensitized in accordance with the oscillating wavelength of a laser ray to be applied to the material is exposed by scanning exposure for a period of exposure time, per pixel, of 1.times.10.sup.-7 second or less with a scanning exposure device equipped with an optical modulator capable of varying the quantity of light in plural stages, to form a photographic image. The quantity of the reflection light from the photographic material at the oscillating wavelength of the laser beam is 30% or less of the quantity of the incident light to the same. By the image forming method, a silver halide photographic material may be extremely rapidly exposed by scanning exposure and may be simply processed to give a photographic image in which the color density and the color tone in a pictorial image area do not differ from those of an image area of letters and thin lines.

There is disclosed a method for forming a color image using a silver halide color photographic material having three silver halide photosensitive layers on a support, comprising, in a cyan color-forming coupler-containing photosensitive layer, a cyan dye-forming coupler represented by formula (I) or (II), wherein said photographic material is exposed by a scanning exposure system and then is subjected to color development processing: ##STR1## wherein Za and Zb each represent --C(R.sub.3).dbd. or --N.dbd., provided that one of Za and Zb represents --N.dbd. and the other represents --C(R.sub.3).dbd.; R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each represent an electron-attracting group; R.sub.3 represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent; and X represents a hydrogen atom or a coupling-off group, provided that R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, or X may be a divalent group, to form a dimer or higher polymer, or to bond to a polymer chain to form a homopolymer or copolymer.

There is disclosed a silver halide color photographic material and a method for forming a color image using said photographic material. The silver halide color photographic material comprises photosensitive emulsion layers each containing silver halide emulsion grains having 95 mol % or more of silver chloride and a hydrophilic colloid layer containing a white pigment that is applied between the support and the photosensitive emulsion layer nearest to the support, the weight ratio of the white pigment in said hydrophilic colloid layer being 40 wt % or more, and the ratio of the total amount of the hydrophilic colloid applied on the support to the total coating amount of the photosensitive silver halide in the photographic material being in the range from 5.0 to 30.0.
