A video distribution apparatus (corresponding to an information processing apparatus) is provided with a light emitting diode (LED) (a tally lamp) for indicating whether a video is selected as a video being distributed or a video in a standby state by a switcher, which receives the video. In a case where a control command is received from an infrared remote controller (corresponding to an external device), the video distribution apparatus determines whether the LED (the tally lamp) is in an ON state or an OFF state. In a case of the ON state, the video distribution apparatus disables a control command from the infrared remote controller. In a case of the OFF state, the video distribution apparatus performs processing according to the control command from the infrared remote controller.

An image correction apparatus reduces an input image, for each area, at a reduction ratio corresponding to the area, generates a reduced luminance image, and extracts a low-frequency component image from the reduced luminance image. The image correction apparatus enlarges the extracted low-frequency component image, for each area, at an enlargement ratio corresponding to the area, generates correction data according to a size of the input image, and corrects the input image according to the correction data.

An object of this invention is to process image data in which a plurality of link destinations are set in one region. Another object of this invention is to allow the user intuitively to recognize the setup states of links, since link regions have different display patterns in correspondence with the numbers of link destinations upon displaying the link regions. There is provided an image processing apparatus and an image processing method which are capable of inserting in real time a desired image into a desired portion of a desired created frame image or a desired previously captured image to enable an operator to synthesize the images with a simple operation without using a personal computer, and a storage medium storing a program for executing the image processing method. An image of an object obtained by photographing the object is input in real time as digital object image data. Frame image data comprising characters and graphics is created. At least one area of the created frame image where the input object image data is to be inserted is designated. The created frame image data is displayed, and the input object image data is inserted into the designated area of the displayed frame image and the designated area with the input object image data inserted therein is displayed. The inserted and displayed object image data is established.
